3 Game Roadtrip

This team/program has definitely not turned the corner!!! Horrible loss tonight against a very poor Seattle U team following a bad loss on a technical. :ohno:

Unbelievable. Not only did we lose to a team with 3 wins this year but we also gave up 91 pts. I know we are doing "great" this year in not turning the ball over and 2nd in country in 3's per game but defense is kind of important. And we don't play any. Different game, same story. Seattle shoots 56% for game, 50% from three and shoots 33 fts to our 16. All the offense is great but defense wins games. I thought we were turning corner but these last two losses should have been easy wins. Instead we lose to a team in disarray with an interim coach and then to a 3 win team that was just beaten by a relatively new d1 school. We have too much talent for this type of up and down play. We had better get it together. I thought third place was a lock and perhaps higher. Now we are tied for sixth place. Still early but I am worried.

Tough loss last night and the team didn't play well. We also have to remember, the team went from Sacramento, to Greeley, to Seattle in a stretch of 5 days, that is not easy to do, we didn't play great defense, or any at all yesterday, and just ran out of gas offensively in the 2nd half.

I am not too concerned with last nights game, the team was tired, it was a non-conference game, I think we can look past it. I'll be concerned if we don't come to play this Saturday against PSU, we need that win so we can stay on track for that 3rd or 4th seed in the conference and a first round home game.

We now start are pretty favorable stretch, with 5 of our next 7 games at home. We should beat PSU and MSU at home, the Griz at home will be a close game but I expect a win. Weber on the road will be difficult. We also have Sac St. and UNC coming to Cheney, and NAU on the road. We should win at least five of our next 7 games if not more. Weber will be tough on the road, but every other game we should be favored to win (except possibly the Griz). This coming stretch will be the big key to our season, we have a lot of winnable home conference games that we need to take advantage of.

+1

This was a game we probably should not have lost, but there's plenty of ball to be played. A 3 or 4 seed is reasonable at this point as long as we win the majority of our remaining conference games.
