QUIT BITCHIN AND MOANIN ABOUT IT... DO YOU EVEN CARE? :coffee: :coffee:

I care and will be there. How often do we complain that WSU can't get any quality teams into the Dee. Here's our chance. Life moves on, yeah it sucks UM beat us again but we are still playing unlike, UofU, UVU, and SUU.

Dont forget USU. :coffee:

the term mid major is now subjective. it means what it means to who happens to be using the term.

there are the 6 bcs conferences and then the midmajors. i think to most people midmajor and non-bcs are synonymous.

but if you ask the CIT website they dont consider for example, mwc, a10, confusa to be midmajors so they arent part of the poll. even the wac wasnt part of the midmajor poll 2 yrs ago prior to its meltdown.

the cit tournament only comes from non bcs conf teams.

i really hate that we have to spend so much time labeling groups. at the end of the day it doest even matter what you call any of them. fcs, fbs, bcs, 1-a, 1-aa, major, midmajor, lowmajor, high major, when will it end? :wall: it is my dream to have the prestige of these big conf schools.

I'll second that catcat  If you read different news clips you'll hear the basketball conf's referred to as "non-BCS" which I thought "BCS" applied to Major College FOOTBALL ! I've read in some college basketball mag's referring to Big Sky as "low major"...some others say "mid-major"... it's all in the "sayer's" mind. Why not just shorten it to BS ! :bad: By the way, USU (Stew) said they would decline playing in the CBI or CIT right after they lost in the WAC tourney, otherwise last yr's CIT runner up would be the 3rd Utah team still playing in the "small Prom" tourneys.

I am actually looking forward to going to the game. I know there won't be a big crowd but it will be fun.
I agree :thumb: I love to watch WSU play no matter who its against and no matter what tourney it's in. Me and my family will be there to support the cats because that's what we do.

USU turned down offers to participate due to the many injuries on their team this yea.

I kind of equate the CIT and the CBI both to something like the "Beef 'O Brady's Bowl" in FBS football, or any of the other 15-20 meaningless bowl games. There are now 164 basketball teams playing post season ball, so it is pretty diluted.

Having said that, I'm excited that there is still basketball to be played. In North Dakota's case, just winning a game (we've got Northern Iowa) would be a good step. Weber is good enough to win this whole tournament, and that would be a good accomplishment for the Big Sky in my eyes.

Thanks for the confidence BinCity. It is good to, at least, be playing in the post season. 8 teams in the BSC are not. Home court advantage is going to be everything in this one and you never know what kind of back room deals have been made by the CIT and the schools they have invited. It isn't based on anything concrete.

The future of the BSC looks better in the next few years. Many of our teams, who have been down, seem to be showing signs of life. The teams I see on the rise for next year are UND, UNC, NAU, and ISU. WSU and UM will always be in the top 3 or 4.

I bet that if, (if being the key word) we win tonight we will host UC Irvine (If they win) or play at either Hawaii or Air Force in the 2nd round

Sounds logical...you been lookin in that crystal ball of yours, Wildcat? What does it predict for attendance tonight? ;-)

My Crystal Ball is telling me right now that we will get around 3,159

take that 3,100 to the bank. never bet against wildcat's attendance predictions. i would have said 2,500 but i dare not predict after wildcat has spoken.

I expect after we advance tonight ( and we will do that) we would play Air Force. Air Force lst their best player to injury, but they were starting 5 seniors and made some noicse this year in MWC.

There are not many Western or even Central region teams in the CIT to make games: we had UT Arlington last year, Oral Roberts this year, and UC-Irvine the past two regular seasons. If the games try to avoid regular opponents, that eliminates a few possibles.

Green Bay, Bradley and UNI are interesting. Hawaii sounds enticing, but it is a long and expensive trip. I think they could play at the Dee, and we could hope for a cold snap!

Thanks Wildcat for posting...looking at it wouldn't you think that the Weber State/Air Force winner is likely to be matched up with the Irvine/Oral Roberts winner in the next round? Interesting...
