On paper...there aren't too many weaknesses. One area of timirity would have to be the Offensive Line, but I've seen some of the horses Coach has brought in, and I think the team will be fine. A little inexperienced, but by the time Weber plays its first Big Sky contest all the kinks should be worked out. On Defense there aren't a lot of veteran backups, and that could be an issue, but who knows that could also be a strength. Unknown players makes it hard for opposing teams to prepare for, and I'm sure that the backups are skilled in their positions. Our strenghts are definitely the returning starters and lettermen. I think our offense will roll over everyone, but what will really open the offense up will be Higgins... He's got a good arm and can run. I don't think Trevyn will repeat, since Weber wont need to depend on him as much, and besides Weber has a couple other backs who can take some reps. That will be good on Smith, he will have more at the end of the games, and most importantly, the season. Its about winning games and the conference title, not about individual accolades.
I've been saying it all winter, this upcoming season is going to be tough... There are six teams that could win the Sky this year.
Practice starts the first Monday in August... I believe, at least thats what I think Toone told me.
