THE GAME

• It's a nationally-ranked matchup as No. 4 Weber State plays at No. 22 UC Davis this Saturday afternoon in Davis, California.

• Saturday's game will kickoff at 4 p.m. Pacific time (5 p.m. MT) from UC Davis Health Stadium. It will be televised on ELEVEN Sports (DirecTV 623) and will be streamed online on Pluto TV 545 and WatchBigSky.com with George Devine and Steve Nicolopulos on the call.

• Radio broadcast will be on 1430 KLO and kloradio.com with Steve Klauke and former Wildcat head coach and athletic director Jerry Graybeal calling the action.

• Live stats will be at WeberStateSports.com and the Weber State app.

OPENING DRIVE

• Weber State is 5-2 overall and 3-0 in Big Sky play after Saturday's 51-28 win over NAU.

• For the fourth-straight week, Weber State is ranked fourth in the nation in the STATS FCS poll and fifth in the AFCA Coaches poll. The 'Cats are the highest ranked Big Sky school.

• UC Davis is 4-4 overall and 2-2 in conference play. The Aggies are ranked 22nd in the nation in this week's national polls.

• WSU's Josh Davis set a Weber State record and had the most rushing yards in a game of any player in the country as he rushed for 328 yards and four touchdowns in Saturday's win.

• Weber State is second in the country in turnover margin at +10.

• Jay Hill is his sixth season as head coach of the Wildcats. Hill has a career record of 41-28 at Weber State. Hill is 30-13 in Big Sky games.

• UC Davis is coached by Dan Hawkins who is in his third season as head coach and was the 2018 National Coach of the Year.

• The game is the only matchup this season between champions of the Big Sky in 2018. Weber State, UC Davis and Eastern Washington all tied for the Big Sky title last season.

• Weber State has won 10 straight and 22 of its last 24 games against Big Sky schools.

• This is the seventh all-time meeting between the two schools with Weber State holding a 4-2 all-time series lead.

• This season the Wildcats are celebrating 100 years of football at Weber State and the 150th year of college football.

Ja’Kobe Harris listed as the starter at safety over Brody Burke. Seems odd.

Jenks listed as the starter. I believe he was last week but Constantine started and Weisser rotated.

Who knows.

Reviewed UC Davis' stats. Their defense is better than NAU's, but not by much. I mean, don't get me wrong, I think our secondary possibly could be our achilles heal. There is a lot of talent and potential and we are starting to see some separation from a couple of our guys in the secondary, but there are still some issues. Yet, Davis' defense isn't anything special. Offensively, they can really move the ball, but I feel our offense is starting to come into its own. Our running game will only get better, which will open up our passing offense more (especially if one or both of our top two QBs can stay healthy). And, our defense is still stout. If we can keep Davis one-dimensional and put a lot of pressure on their QB, then I feel Weber will leave California with a W.

As long as Adam Rodriguez can disrupt the line and get through we won’t really have to worry to much about the secondary. Adam has been a huge weapon for us against the pass.

Not to say this game will be easy at all, but of the three remaining road games this appears to be the best chance of stealing one. Just basing this off past results. UM rolled Davis on the road and then got rolled by Sac on the road.

Adam is a stud but I want to see Tarlas get more playing time. Whenever he is in he is a game changer. I know he is behind Adam, isn't there another position he could play to get more time on the field?

They can slide Jonah inside on passing downs and put Tarlas in at end.

(They may already do this sometimes but it’s hard to see the interior lineman on my stream.)

Howdy from Davis fellas. I'm really looking forward to tomorrows game. For the Aggies, this is a must win if we have any hopes of hanging in there for a possible playoff bid. We are really banged up at the moment in several different key areas. I see both offensives scoring. If we can slow down your run I see us winning. If your secondary can defend our passing game, the nod goes to Weber. But whatever happens, be sure to beat Suc!

Hello agalum. Wish I was traveling to Davis to see this one. I'll be watching on Pluto. I expect a good game will be played by both teams. The two most inexperienced areas for us are the secondary and our O line. However, both of those have been gaining experience each week. I agree with your take on things. It may come down to who can execute their game plan the most efficiently. To stop us, you will need to put a lot into stopping our run game, but you can't sleep on our pass game either. As far as scoring on us, you will need to be balanced. By that, I mean if you pass only, you will turn it over and give us easier scores. That is a losing formula against us. We tend to beat teams who are forced into passing only.

Can you elaborate more on where injuries have effected the Aggies?

Weber has been fairly healthy outside of QB. We’ve just rolled with whoever is healthy enough to go and it seems some weeks we have just been trying to bleed the clock in the 2nd half and get to the end of the game without risking further injury to our QBs.

Hopefully Shaheed is good to go tomorrow as well.

Well, lol, can’t elaborate specifically on injuries other then our record is reflecting the loss of players. This has been on both sides of the ball. Hawk doesn't talk about it, he’s of the mind set “next man up.” Might end up being a building season. Our biggest games are poly and Suc. In a bad year, win those and alumni are not too depressed.

I like the tempo and for the most part the play call on that first drive. Giving up a TD on the kick return? Not so much!

Use the WatchBigSky link from the BSC page, not the PlutoTV link if you don't already know. I had nothing but problems when I used to use the PlutoTV link and have had almost zero problems with the WatchBigSky link.
