Great road win. Weber played a pretty consistent 4 quarters, the score made the game look closer than it was. Still plenty to work on, but a good solid win.
Offense - A minus
More balance on the offensive side than we have had in a long time. Constantine had one turnover but threw for 275 yards and one TD. Receiving corps was solid. Cooley continues to be a very clutch receiver with 7 catches for 104 yds and a TD. The running game was solid and ground out 203 yards including the two fake punt runs. Lots of trickeration this game. besides the two fakes, there was a successful flea flicker and a Philly special. Only real issue was the inability to turn field goals into touchdowns. 3rd down conversion was a very respectable 7 of 18.
Defense - A
Weber held a very good QB to a career low in passing and shut down UC Davis' run attack. So many highlights on this side of the ball. D line was dominant, pass coverage was very good, and there were people swarming the ball on every play. Weber forced two fumbles, intercepted Maier once and had several other opportunities for interceptions.
Special Teams - A minus
Tuttle scored one half the points and was 5 for 5 on FGs. One poor kick coverage resulted in a touchdown and we may have been a little two greedy on the second fake punt, but both units were otherwise solid. George Tarlas had a hell of a game on special teams with a fake punt for 21 yards and a tremendous hit on kick coverage which forced a fumble and sent the UC Davis player out of the game.
Injuries
Constantine looked as healthy as he has all year. Rashid Shaheed (hamstring) did not dress. Tyler Downs (knee) has been out most of the year.
Penalties
Weber had 9 penalties for 46 yards which was an improvement only one set of penalties derailed the offense and resulted in a field goal. Defensive penalties extended drives for UC Davis twice. Both drives fizzled out shortly thereafter.
Up to #3 in the polls and ready for a showdown with Sac St for first place.
