#4 Weber St @ #22 UC Davis

Use the WatchBigSky link from the BSC page, not the PlutoTV link if you don't already know. I had nothing but problems when I used to use the PlutoTV link and have had almost zero problems with the WatchBigSky link.

Not just a reliability problem but the broadcasts are just terrible quality.

Holy Crap, Tarlas knocked that kid out. Hope he's okay. Even with all the newer rules to improve safety, this is still a very violent game. Thst was scary.

Thanks to the offense's inability to score TDs we can't.put this game away, again

Even risk losing it. Granted I'm in no way qualified to be any kind of DI FB coach, even still when Weber gets in the red zone I really begin to question their play call and how they line up, especially on run plays.

Can someone smarter than me (probably everyone on the board) tell me why on 3rd and 30, all Weber pass defenders were right up on the line and UCD's receivers? Looked like a normal rush to me, wouldn't you typically try and keep the receivers in front of you, something Weber's DBs have had some struggles with?

It was not a blowout, but you never got the sense that Davis was in the game. With the exception of the run back, we controlled the game wire to wire.

I thought the pass game really shined and the run game was just okay. UCDavis may have had something to do about that.

The kicking and special teams, sans the RB, were solid. Trick plays kept it interesting. Great all around game.

On to Sac.

A very big win on the road. Defense was dominant and special teams was great minus the return. It is still frustrating not having the offense capitalize and put games away early, but they made some strides. Red zone needs to be better. If Weber State can hold serve at home, I think they get a playoff bid, and probably a first round home game if they drop the two road games left.

Big week next week! Offense needs to be sharp because I think it will be tough to hold Sac State down offensively. I think Weber’s defense would love to make a statement, too. Should be a good game.

Anyone know why Coach Hill was so mad at Jenks in the final seconds of the game? Highlights show his real bad at who appears to be Jenks. Anyone have an inside scoop?

I noticed that on the live feed as well. Knowing Coach Hill it was probably something that was not executed exactly the way it was taught, but I have no insight as to what it was.

It appeared that he and Shramm were both upset at Constantine before pulling him and putting Jenks in. Then they appeared upset at Jenks as well.

Great road win. Weber played a pretty consistent 4 quarters, the score made the game look closer than it was. Still plenty to work on, but a good solid win.

Offense - A minus
More balance on the offensive side than we have had in a long time. Constantine had one turnover but threw for 275 yards and one TD. Receiving corps was solid. Cooley continues to be a very clutch receiver with 7 catches for 104 yds and a TD. The running game was solid and ground out 203 yards including the two fake punt runs. Lots of trickeration this game. besides the two fakes, there was a successful flea flicker and a Philly special. Only real issue was the inability to turn field goals into touchdowns. 3rd down conversion was a very respectable 7 of 18.

Defense - A
Weber held a very good QB to a career low in passing and shut down UC Davis' run attack. So many highlights on this side of the ball. D line was dominant, pass coverage was very good, and there were people swarming the ball on every play. Weber forced two fumbles, intercepted Maier once and had several other opportunities for interceptions.

Special Teams - A minus
Tuttle scored one half the points and was 5 for 5 on FGs. One poor kick coverage resulted in a touchdown and we may have been a little two greedy on the second fake punt, but both units were otherwise solid. George Tarlas had a hell of a game on special teams with a fake punt for 21 yards and a tremendous hit on kick coverage which forced a fumble and sent the UC Davis player out of the game.

Injuries
Constantine looked as healthy as he has all year. Rashid Shaheed (hamstring) did not dress. Tyler Downs (knee) has been out most of the year.

Penalties
Weber had 9 penalties for 46 yards which was an improvement only one set of penalties derailed the offense and resulted in a field goal. Defensive penalties extended drives for UC Davis twice. Both drives fizzled out shortly thereafter.

Up to #3 in the polls and ready for a showdown with Sac St for first place.

Just reading his lips, but he appears to say: 'I said, Just stop.' It probably had something to do with jawing back and forth with the UCD players. Just my best guess. :coffee:
