Depth chart released

No McKade Mitton or Brody Burke. Heine reporting Mitton will miss spring with injury. Anyone know about Burke?

McMillan listed as 2nd RB. Expecting big things out of him, but still a surprise to be listed ahead of Smith and Jackson at this point.

This really didn't surprise me. McMillan is a very talented running back. So are the others as well. This depth chart can and will change from week to week. We are deep enough to run a lot of guys. I think that they will all get their chances. Same thing is true with the WRs. :coffee:

Hey Dan, the 2-deep chart you posted says that Jared Lutui is the starting RE, but the one I see on the website says that Logan Lutui is the starting RE. So it seems to me that the starter is 260 not 305. The roster list Logan as a DE and Jared as a DL. Not sure why your posting shows Jared in that position.

The depth cart posted on twitter by Weber State was corrected in the game notes.

With the basketball game at Idaho State canceled today, is the football game for sure on in a week? ESPN app is also showing Cal Poly at UC Davis game postponed. I know two bye weeks were built in for this reason, but I’m still getting nervous.

Basketball games canceled due to covid issues within the MSU program.

CP/UCD game postponed due to CP having to pause activities for 17 days prior to resuming practices yesterday, 2/19. They just haven't been able to practice enough to play on the 27th.

It's encouraging that we haven't heard of any covid issues from Weber or ISU. Game on the 27th is still on track. The game at CP a week later a little more iffy but after postponing their 1st game I think CP will be doing everything they can to play that game.

BTW, I called ISU the other day and no single game or guest tickets will be sold. They'll allow a limited amount of booster club members and season ticket holders to attend.

Weber/Cal Poly game scheduled for 3/6 postponed to 4/17

Dang, I hate seeing a week off right after the first game.

I just read the Standard’s article from Hein interviewing ISU’s beat reporter. ISU is replacing 9 starters on offense and 8 on defense. I didn’t realize they were replacing so much this year. Basically their wide receivers, o-line, d-line, and secondary are brand new. Even if we have some growing pains at our QB position, I can’t imagine them competing with us at the line of scrimmage nor can I see their freshmen WR’s getting open vs our secondary.

Bengals lost all four secondary starters and brought in five transfers to replace them. But, only one of the transfers (a JUCO transfer) is expected to start. I think that whoever the QB is, if he can just get the ball anywhere near our WRs they'll have a field day against their secondary. Our WR corp should be really good.

They had a nearly complete turnover on the D line as well. Thier LB crew is reported to be solid.

After listening to our new OC, I'm encouraged about our chances of having a top notch offense. Sounds like it will be some what similar to last years with some additional nuances. They are planning to use the TE's a bit more and stretch defenses with our speed at WR. The run game should be as good as ever. :coffee:

Well offense was by no means perfect with a slow start, and they still put up 49 points. Defense had the one missed tackle on the long TD, but did well. Barron looked good and had nice poise for a freshman.

It will be interesting to see how Idaho State does next week, but I think their QB will do well vs other defenses.

I wish it was on to Cal Poly next week, but will be excited to see the Wildcats play in Ogden in a couple of weeks.

If anyone knows where a box score is? ESPN app doesn’t have it, and game cast wasn’t working. Pluto TV feed was difficult with the camera work, but just glad to see the Wildcats play again.

Thanks! Good to see the stats. Freshman QB with 4 passing TDS and over 300 yards is impressive.

I was surprised to not see any of the following players on the field at Pocy Town yesterday. RB Kevin Smith, WR's Devon Cooley, Isaiah Jackson, Randal Grimes, TE Logan Strom, DE McCade Mitton and CB Max Anderson. Anyone have any insight into why none of these guys played?
