#5 EWU at PSU "The Dam Cup" Game Thread

Just me or would anyone else trade for their stadium. Wonder what it looks like with people in it?! ;)

Might as well play at Albi if you're not going to play on your own campus.

what is the deal with forte? saw his post from twitter from root?

They said he was still dealing with the ankle injury. He didn't travel to Portland with the team.

Forte, ankle - Moore, knee. Hopefully the by helps us out. I kept hearing all week long that we're the healthiest we've been all season long, but we're still missing multiple players?

We'll be missing players every year. It's just a part of the game. However, we are fortunate enough to be missing players in positions where we have a lot of depth. On offense at least.

Strange game... Both teams dropped a lot of balls, especially them. Weather was brutal at times, and halfway reasonable 5 minutes later.

Our DL really had a rotten game. Without bringing a fifth man up, we couldn't get anything done up front.

Still, it sure seemed like PSU had enough talent to be better than 3-9.

My impression of their facility is positive as it was two years ago. Put some butts in all of those seats and you would have something, and the roof design should lend itself to a noisy place for a football game. I was especially impressed with the operation of the video board. There was replay of practically every down with several angles of each. Coming up to this standard would further enhance the game day experience for all Eagle fans.

Yeah, PSU had a lot of talent last year, but their year was unimpressive. I thoroughly believe it's a coaching and administrative issue.

You're right about the d-line. I think that rain really prevented traction and push, but PSU didn't seem to have problems. So that is no excuse. It really hurt all the phases of our defense, as our secondary kept playing up to compensate and got burned with the deep ball. Good thing PSU dropped so many.

For those of you who were fortunate enough to attend the game do you have a sense of how many PSU fans and how many EWU fans were at the game. On television it looked as if the place was almost empty with exception of our fans.

I believe they said that the paid attendance was over 3,000 people, but it was obvious that it wasn't close to that. Definitely more Eastern fans there.

Most of the traveling Eag faithful huddled together in a single section, high up out of the deluge. It was very nice to be a the dry section.
That section alone far outnumbered the sparse Portland fans that came to see the Vickings last game of the season. Even in the concourse and local eating establishments (bars) there were way more eagle fans..

Glad to hear that the game was well attended by EWU fans. I wish I could have been there but I couldn't take the off to travel to Portland.

I read in the Oregonian this morning the attendance was just under 6000 @59??. They must not have a sports information director or if they do he does a very poor job. On Friday there was nothing about the game in the local paper, there is not a radio station carrying the games, on television sports broadcasts they cover a lot of high schools but I didn't see anything about PSU.
Big Thanks to Dave Cook and huge appreciation for Jim's coverage.
Thanks guys!
