70's & early 80's games on tape

I have looked for years for the 1977 UCLA-Idaho State game, and I suppose it may be gone forever. I was wondering if there any other games from long ago that someone has tucked away?

Call Glenn Alford at ISU he may help you....By the way, last week I was in Park City Ut and shopping at a clothing store when there he was...walking in the store...The one and Only ED THOMPSON....he could play and was he a great point guard for that team. He and I played a little old man ball together in the 80's...Great guy. He looked great.

Who were the starters in the Game ISU Vs UCLA..
I can guess this.

Thompson
Griffin
Hayes
Cook
Gould or was it the other guard who left after that year...can not remember name....????
Others on the team.
Brandt Robison
others????

Due to the diligence of one Russ Eisenstein, we have a copy of the coaches video of this game on DVD, but there is no sound. What we really need is the audio....if anyone has the audio, we would love to get our hands on it. You guys know the address....

call KSEI in Pocatello. Ask for Dave Moliter for he is a ISU grad and Golf coach for the women. He would know how to get, maybe??? the audio from KSET which would have done the game I believe with Larry Eckenroad...."THE BEST PLAY BY PLAY BASKETBALL VOICE THE BENGALS EVER HAD..."
Russ, he too does great work. I hope he sticks around a while. He will be going places. he is very good.

Dead end on that one so far.....good idea though, but we had already gone there....I agree, Russ is one of the best in the business.

I see your call sign is ISUSID so Why am I telling you anything ??? you already know it all..LOL sorry.
Say, who will be doing the games as in what stations are you going to have carry the Football and B-ball games this next season. It is tough to get ISU on KSEI anymore even up here in Idaho Falls...
thanks

I have a contact that I will check with and see if he might have audio of this game. Someone out there might have it. Has anyone ever checked with UCLA radio to see if they might have it?

I believe that UCLA radio folks only have their broadcast, and obviously, we would want the ISU guys with this on tape somewhere. I know there is a treasure trove of old film of football tucked under the Holt stands in the football office that is just DYING to go to a DVD somewhere, although I'm guessing that the film down there is mostly coaches shows.

I will readily admit I wish we had more of a better library of televised games and such, but honestly, that's one of those "need a person in that position" type things.

Oh, and I only wish I knew everything....I'm interested in what bengfanindy finds out. As far as the radio networks, I'll have to see where we are at with that, as I would imagine they are the same, although we are diligently working with a station in Soda to get games. Idaho Falls should get the games crystal clear on KRXK (1230 AM I think....)

ISUSID (because ISUAADFMR is way too long)

sorry SID...I talked Bubb on this a few times....`1230 out of Rexburg..Weak signal. We need a FM station again. KSEI and KRXK are both weak. You need a very good radio to hear the games. They need to get them on one of the FMs
thanks

I can always find out, although I'm not sure if they have an FM station up there or not. Worth looking into again though.

I can confirm that KRXK (1230AM) out of Rexburg will provide a marginal, if any kind of listenable signal at all in Idaho Falls, and then only during daytime hours. I'm positive the station goes to low power (250w) at night, which means it's signal is only like that of 1240 in Pocatello at night or AM690 out of Blackfoot at night. It will cover the town it's in, but that's about it.

I wouldn't mind who's radio people we used, as long as we could merge some radio audio on top of that film. I have the film also, but it's just not as exciting with it being silent. If you can get the UCLA radio audio, then do so. I'll take care of the merging of the film and audio.

Tremendous progress has been made in the project. I was able to come up with audio for the game, and also I uncovered another gem from the past. Watch for further updates.
