Wasn’t able to watch this one. What were the trends?

Offense was dialed in, moving the ball with regularity. Dorton went off, and Barriere was fantastic. We still dropped a few balls.

Defense struggled. DBs struggled to mark receivers in the zone. DL looked better than last week, but it still couldn't get them off the field and Lindenwood was able to put together long scoring drives.

Speical team was "special;" let's leave it at that. Lindenwood's punter was sensational.

There were bright moments. Besides an inept special teams, there was far too much inconsistency on the defense aside from the LB's and OK DL. Wouldn't call 3 sacks great, but there where 9 TFL's and several hurries. Did use a lot of the younger WR's so their blocking downfield was a bit spotty. Guess I'm the only one who thinks the OL isn't quite playing up to their billing and experience. Assuming there is a change in the blocking scheme with the new offense. I don't think Eastern will be able to run the ball like last year against good FCS level teams given what I've seen so far.

Don't want to be super critical, everyone knew with all the changes in coaching and the loss of a large senior class this would be a work in progress. Not seeing the Coach Best of last year on the few sideline shots on TV and the Eag's are going to have to step up to compete next week at Jacksonville State who handled Chattanooga easily this weekend.

Hope those injured will heal well and fast. Go Eags!

How bad was Ojoh hurt?

I saw him walk off the field after the game, looked fine, stayed and talked with kids...he looks like he will be fine...
Oh that is great news! He is a BEAST and he will take us a long way this year so pumped to watch him progress.

Andre Slyter may be hurt. He did make that 50 yarder (coulda been 60) but he didn't kick second half. Watching rerun now and watching closely after he missed that 47 yarder in 2nd qtr, he was touching his groin (don't get excited Lucky). Then on sideline upper thigh kicking leg. Groin injury can be lingering so hope he's ok...that will hurt missing him.

My biggest concern was the snake crowd. Seemed quite a bit smaller than I can remember even for a D2 team this early in the season.

Don't worry, I know kickers are your specialty.

On another note: This from the SR is almost your rant after the final scrimmage. Is what your writing just coming true in the twilight zone or is it just a psychic power?
Trouble with special teams, penalties: Slyter is 1 for 3 on field-goal attempts this season and punter Trevor Bowens is averaging 35 yards a punt, almost 10 yards less than EWU’s opponents (44.5). EWU allowed about 20 yards a kick return and also muffed a punt return that put Lindenwood in scoring position.
The Eagles also racked up 13 penalties for 140 yards.
