The news on Smith's ankle sure doesn't sound promising.

Regarding Washington... I can't think that he's in playing shape, and the team is way different this year. That would be like throwing a new guy in at quarterback in the second quarter against one of the best teams in the country right after he joins the team. Wait, maybe this could work. ;-)
 
I was really disappointed when I found out A-Dub wasn't coming back for this season. The combo of him and Scotty was really great and they dominated inside. The thought of him coming back kinda excites me.

I agree that it'll take a sizeable amount of work for him to get back in shape and gelling with the team. I definitely think we need his presence. Remember that after Scott, or next big player is 6'5" in Julius Thomas(6'8" if you count Coston, but he doesn't have the size to be a center, yet). If Scott gets in foul trouble, or god forbid, hurt, we will really appreciate having a second big man.

Lets hope that Washington is willing to put the work in that will get him back on the team.
 
Couldn't he just stay out this year and come back at the start of next season? The Oregonian said he had a full year of eligibility left, and the extra time would ensure that his academic house was in order.
 
That's a good idea. Morrison and Washington in the center next year? Sounds great to me.

Plus, I'm hoping to see A Washington Jr in Green and White on the 2024 squad. :-)
