I had heard that Birkel put his name in for the draft, but did not hear if he got picked.

Birkel? You're kidding right? He was out for a season and had some problems holding onto the ball during Coach Dalton's last season. Either you heard wrong or that kid is the most confident (or optimistic) S.O.B. on the face of the planet.

He is listed as an area prospect, although it does mention that he would probably be an undrafted rookie.
