After watching the UNLV game

I was anxious to see how well we handled that unfortunate loss, so I went to last Sat's game. It was pretty exciting and we came from behind to win. Part of the maturation of a team is learning how to win and the HB game had some important positives.

Firstly, the defense had another 4 turnover game. Coach Kerr stresses the import of turnovers at every practice...ie 5 turnovers or they run. After two games, it's clearly paying off. Let's hope they keep at it;

Secondly, we have several hitters on D and they were laying the wood regularly. I like that a lot!

Thirdly, Our QB is definitely a dual threat kinda guy. I'd like to see some more read-options to take advantage of his legs. I'd also like to see more misdirection and other wrinkles. This should slow down the pursuit when our opponent loads up the box against us.

Fourthly, O-Line is better than it would seem. It's the second game in a row where ours looked the more dominant in the 2nd 1/2. If we were a little more unpredictable in our play calling in the first 1/2, it would help them out.

See you at the next game.

Bear Down !
