Ags vs. Lumberjacks

All the Lumberjacks are at the game, so I guess I can highjack the web site. Certainly more of a defensive game than anyone expected. 7-0 NAU at the half. The Aggies have traditionally been a passing team and only our running is effective at all in this game.

Aggies put on a good show but NAU deserved to win. Our defense and RB's showed up but as always our inconsistent QB and WR's cost us the game. See how the Big Sky offensive player of the week looked this week - pathetic.

Hard fought victory for NAU :thumb: . Just like I thought, Davis put up a good fight. I couldn't believe how many punts both teams took in the first half. I thought we would never score. Props to Davis for their good defense. I was impressed with some of their RB. They have some size and are as tough as we'ves seen all season. I'm proud of our guys for playing tough as well and wanting the win. Let's hope Austin Shanks is ok to go next week.

King - I was at the game but didn't catch what happened to Austin Shanks....?

NAU has shown the ability to come from behind for wins multiple times this year. They've shown the ability to blow out teams for wins with a potent offense. They've shown the ability to win defense dominated games. THey've shown the ability to find a way to win when they're struggling. All signs of a good team.

The student section came out in force. The community/alums did a slightly better job than in the past but I was really hoping for a sell out game yesterday. Good overall atmosphere around town. Lotsa Lumberjacks blue and gold all over shirts and buildings. Nice to see some local pride in NAU. I caught the football game and one soccer match but missed the volleyball game. Jacks athletics, overall, is looking good right now.

Tequila Sunrise was a spectacle, as usual. Walking around downtown on Saturday morning made me seriously think why the hell I willingly woke up @ 4:30 am a few times to partake in abject stupidity. :)

I put NAU at #9 in the AGS and CS polls. Good luck the rest of the season.

I made it a point to chat with your fanbase that I crossed paths with. Hope they enjoyed their time in N. AZ. UC Davis has a defense that's ready to compete with the best in the conference. Got a ways to go on offense but your running game showed promise. There was absolutely nothing easy about that win for NAU. Keep your heads up.
