Alaska Q400 fleet - EWU airplane needed!

Hello all - Possibly a good offseason outlet for board members would be for the masses to politely email Alaska Air and get them going on a EWU livery airplane. They just added UA Anchorage and UA Fairbanks. Let's get an EWU livery to represent the Alaska Spokane market!

I emailed Alaska Airlines about 3-4 years ago, shortly after the National Championship. The response I got was that they were in the process of painting all their planes from Horizon to Alaska and wouldn't have any plans to do any more team painting in the near future. They've done several more schools since then, and it's always really bothered me. :ohno:

I was told because they don't fly into Cheney. I have flown Alaska for years and have the highest status in terms of miles. I have brought this up multiple times. Especially on trips to Bozeman and Missoula.

Guess what. We have a campus in Spokane.. They fly into Spokane. I did email them awhile ago when they gave um a plane...don't think I ever got a response.

Do they fly into Moscow? There is a Vandal plane... Do they fly into Pullman? There is a Coug plane...

Funny how they use that as an excuse but yet EWU's campus is closer to the Spokane airport than Sea Tac is close to UW's campus for example.

I'm a Delta guy, but I'd consider making the change if they had an Eagle plane. Alaska does the Portland-Atlanta route now daily, so it wouldn't be a big switch for me.

Pullman/Moscow share an airport, and Alaska does fly there. I would bet Eastern doesn't have a corporate-type package with Alaska, and that is part of the reason. I don't actually know this, but it would be my only guess. Please tell me motherfucking Gonzaga doesn't have a plane!

These are my thoughts as well. My guess it's 100% tied to $$$.

I work for Horizon Airlines, and the day after i finished my initial training I met the CEO of Horizon Air (Glen Johnson) and expressed the need of an EWU plane, as we are the 3rd largest station that Horizon flies to (Only after Seattle and Portland.) Unfortunately the reason they do not have a EWU plane is because they only do 2 from each state. WSU & UW, OSU & UO, BSU & UI, UM & MSU, UA Fairbanks & UA Anchorage, the only exception is california only has SDSU currently, so im guessing another Cali school will be next.

What we need to do is get permission from Horizon and bet UW on the game coming up, if we win they paint the plane EWU, if we lose... ? who knows.

GO EAGS!
