I know many of you are going to tell me tough luck but here it goes. I'm obviously a griz fan, a few years ago I traveled to ewu for our game. Our group had things thrown on us, cursed at all game and it was the worst experience of my life. My group vowed never to return, I however have more faith and convinced three of them to come back this year. But I wrote down the wrong day tickets went on sale and now I can not find any other than GA. Is there anyone here that has four extra tickets around? We really think this will be a good game that the griz will prob. Lose. But I would love to gave a better experience and enjoy this rivalry game. If anyone has any tickets or ideas PM me. Thanks for everything. Ps- beat the cats
 
I don't have any extra tickets for this game, but I know some friends of mine had to purchase GA tickets yesterday as well. Aside from a few drunk students, most EWU fans are pretty dang good people, just as I believe most Griz fans are as well (discounting Egriz).

Hopefully, your group is treated with respect when you visit this time.

I don't know for sure where they are, but I have a gut feeling they're going to be tickets in the temp bleachers in the south endzone.

God, I wish we would get a new stadium... :ohno:

GA tickets will be in the temporary bleachers, typically in the south end zone. The good thing about our stadium being so small is there really isn't a bad seat. The bad thing about our stadium is that we really don't have a true visiting section. The Visiting section is on the east side, but it is in the middle of a lot of eagle fans, so there are bound to be problems. I think the biggest issue we have with our fans is that the visiting fans typically enter the same gate as our students do.

Hang out in the upper parking lot for tailgating, you will run into nothing but great EWU fans...
 
If i'm not mistaken the West side "main" seating is held for season ticket holders at this point, and everything that is available for sale are end zones and east side bleachers. What I'm trying to say is that no matter where you sit I suspect you'll be surrounded by EWU fans, should be the biggest attendance game yet.
 
I'm not worried about being around ewu fans. I'm just looking for a decent spot to watch the game and not get beer/soda thrown at me.

You know. No. I'm not letting this slide.

I'm so sick of opposing fans making up stories about "how awful they were treated in Cheney". BS. Until recently, like this year maybe, we could barely get fans to stand up and cheer on 3rd downs. And getting students to buy in and invest in the program by regularly attending games and creating a home-field advantage has only recently started to pick up.

I just don't see how we go from no one in the Big Sky even knowing EWU fans existed to having this ravenous fan base that does all of these obnoxious things. NO way. NO how.

I see this as petty losers whining that they made the trip to Cheney / Spokane expecting their team to walk away with an easy win so they could justify their trip to the big city to get their Olive Garden and Apple Store fix, and in fact left disappointed with what happened on the field. You can no longer bash the EWU football program for its football because its the premier program in the Big Sky. YOu can't bash the low attendance because we're selling out games (even September games on Labor Day weekend against Dillion, MT). So this is what fans are resorting to? Making stories up . Get out of here with that.

If you really wanted tickets, why not just come on here and say you wanted tickets? Why write the extra made up sob story then reiterate later on in the thread? YOu want tickets? Go to Craiglist. You want to come on here and troll? Not on my watch anymore.

I agree for the most part. I've gone to all but one home game at Roos Field since the first game on the red turf and I've NEVER witnessed any EWU fan doing anything physical to any opposing fan, including Montana. I've seen a handful of drunk students being verbally vulgar, but I've witnessed that at every stadium I've been too as well. I don't know where people are running into this issue, but it's starting to sound pretty far fetched.

The last two times the Griz have played in Cheney, I've witnessed a couple pissing matches between fans that were caused by Griz fans bitching about an EWU fan standing in front of them. Do I blame all Griz fans for that? No. There are ways for EWU to improve their program, but they have to do with stadium upgrades, not a couple of immature students that can't handle their alcohol. I've seen plenty of Griz fans defending their student athletes for their bad decisions...
 
^^^and these are the jerks that everyone in the conference hates. I have met and have enjoyed talking with plenty of ewu fans. Everyone on this board was very nice and informative until the last few. Its funny that you say every teams fans come on here and say it. Well don't you think ot might really be happening? I have not made this up and I am sorry you feel like you have to puff your chest and think ewu fans would never do it. My point was, a few bad apples ruined my last trip. I have seen a few bad apples in Missoula, Bozeman, flagstaff and Ogden, as well as JMU, App.st, and others. My point was that I didn't believe all your fans behave like this, however it is the reputation in the bigsky and now with the shsu incident, the country of fcs fans. I will be returning this Nov. And am looking forward to meeting more great ewu fans and see some good football. Stay classy. If you ever need help in Missoula PM and I'll do the best I can.

I've been nothing but civil to you in this topic and explained that I hoped you had a much better experience this time around than the last time you visited and now all the sudden I'm a jerk that everyone else in the conference hates? I simply pointed out the experiences that I've witnessed, and pointed out that it seems to happen everywhere and apparently that was too much for you to handle.

The great comedy here is that his Highness believes Griz fans are respected and/or adored by other Big Sky programs. By and large, I think damn near everyone in the Big Sky relishes watching Montana get their comeuppance.

Sadly, I'll still probably root for them this weekend.... It's kind of a Hitler v Stalin type of game. I guess I'll root for the asshole of the Big Sky before the asshole of the MVC. At least they're our asshole!
