Any word on the new artificial surface

The field looks great! I am glad that they put the Sac State logo on and “Hornets” in the end zone rather than some generic Sacramento makings in deference to the Mountain Lions. Next year maybe the Mountain Lions can help upgrade the home bleachers and press box. I hope we can get as much out of them as possible before the UFL goes belly up!

The Mountain Lion's deal was two years of occupancy for the money they contributed for the new turf, so don't expect anything from them next year. Not saying it wouldn't be nice, but the deal is already cut so I wouldn't expect it.
 
The turf is officially to be opened Monday and the team should be allowed to begin practicing on it. They've been out on the track I've heard so it should be good to transition to the synthetic surface.
