Anybody hear Chaves?

The game that will haunt us is the Montana game. They played awful against us, but we just kept matching their shitty play with shittier play of our own. Remember that "jump pass" on 4th and about half an inch that got picked off and ran back? We made so many boneheaded mistakes in that game and still were right there to win it if we only made a single play late.

Given how many times we've played our best games against the Griz only to see them make one extra great play or get a call, it sucks that they actually giftwrapped one for us and we didn't take it this season. A lot of old Eagle football players I talked to were stewing about losing that one.

Still, the 4 games walking of the plank to start the season just didn't work out. Hopefully, we'll learn the lesson... but I fear we won't. It'll be interesting to see what Chaves does on the Admin side to shake things up next year to ensure we don't have two FBS opponents on the road back-to-back and fix the problem of us not playing at home until week #5.

And if we had played Montana Western instead of USD in the 2nd week, we would still be on the outside looking in. We missed the playoffs because we threw a pick at the end of the UW game, and played terrible against USD and Montana.

You are right, Kalm, and maybe it is time to quit complaining about Chaves, who is trying to financially keep us in division one athletics,,,

+1

Injuries, schedule = excuses. Yes they can make it harder, but the bottom line is you line up on the field and play. Better play agains USD, PSU or Montana and you are in the playoffs. Better play against two of the three and you maybe even start at home.

The bottom line is champions are built in the spring and summer. This is what the heart of a champion looks like. You have to match or better this intensity:
