• Hi Guest,

We've updated the site to combine all the forums that were part of the Big Sky Fans Network into one location. This will make it easier to navigate and participate in all the discussions for each school without having to have multiple accounts, etc. We are still working out some tweaks but please let us know if you notice anything.

With the migration, in some circumstances, your username could have been merged with one of your other usernames from the other forums. If this is the case, you can request to change your username in your account details page of your profile.
  • Hi Guest, want to participate in the discussions, keep track of read/unread posts and more? Create your free account and increase the benefits of your eGriz.com experience today!
  • Guest, do want an ad free experience on BigSkyFans.com among other benefits? Upgrade your account today!

Simply click your profile name > account upgrades > BigSky Club > choose between the year long subscription (two free months) or month to month

Thanks for the continued support. Cheers!

Anyone else miss www.bigskybball.com?

I am really missing Jon Reeds insight this year. He always did a good job of breaking things down and was passionate about Big Sky BBall. I see what Colter Nuanez is trying to do with Skyline Sports, but it just doesn't seem to have the same insight and passion that Jon brought to us each week. We miss you Jon and hope all is going well with you.

Jon rocks! Definitely miss his insights. But, wow, what he did took some serious time. I definitely appreciated it though. Hell, if I had some serious resources I'd hire him just to do the blog. His work helped make the conference more palpable.

Now...the question is, does anyone miss Weberhoops.com?

I really liked Jon's blog. It really was a lot for one person to do. It's too bad that he couldn't have made a little money off of it. I totally understand his walking away from it. The BSC should have hired him. He did more to promote BSC athletics than the BSC administration has done. He should have Fullerton's job. :coffee:

Jon's blog was awesome. I'm confident that no one knew as much about Big Sky BBall as he did. I was really hoping the Big Sky would hire him in some official capacity. I can't imagine how much time it must have taken him to go that in depth into every team. That guy was a machine! And 9/10 times I fully agreed with his analysis.

So to answer the initial question... Yes... I miss it... a lot.

Hi all, a twitter follower pointed me in the direction of this thread so I just wanted to login to say thank you for the kind words, you've made me blush. I've seen that I'm missing a good year in the Big Sky... Bolomboy is destroying people, and Idaho State is actually in the hunt which is fun to see!

Things are going well for me. I didn't go into it in my final post on the site for various reasons, but one reason that I stepped down from writing the blog was that my wife and I are doing a whole bunch of traveling this year - taking some time off while we are still young to explore the world. So I am writing this message from Nicaragua where we are currently staying! (sidenote: if you're interested in travel, we probably won't write a ton but this is our site if you want to follow along). So, it wasn't really feasible to keep writing the site if I was planning to be out of the country for much of the season.

So I miss writing the blog, I had a great time doing it, but it was a needed break that was spurred on by our desire to travel. I do miss interacting with everyone, this message board was always a place I loved visiting. Maybe circumstances will allow for a resurrection of the blog in the future (though unfortunately, no promises!).

I think it is safe to say that Big Sky Jon is not on the road to Reno!

Enjoy your travels, Jon. I miss your blog but travel and time with loved ones is much more important than satiating our hoops addictions.

Cheers.

I don't disagree. It wasn't the best site. The pictures were good.

Thanx, Tal. Those 5 or 6 seasons were a lot of fun. Student inolvement was really great great great in the PURPLE PAK era. I got to meet a lot of awesome folks from student leaders to student Athletes. From D.E.C. mgmnt to athletic dept. management. From media types to super fans. I'm really blessed that ya'all are in my life. Although a great deal of my free time is dedicated to recuperating enough to do battle with the next day, I still manage to get to most of the games, thanx to my Cuz, Geno.
I was born to bleed purple and I will die bleeding purple. ( I don't plan doing that anytime soon thanx to modern medicine)

I understand Kyle Franko, former sports editor of the Idaho State Journal in Pocatello, is going to revive the Big Sky blog. Check it out at the same site.

It's back. Woo hoo!!

Thanks Jon and Kyle.
