Anyone else think Vitto will start next week?

I think VA should start.

If VA sits, that means he goes 20 days without playing a game and he only played in 1/2 a game prior to that. No way do we want a rusty VA playing in our playoff opener. I think Vitto is great, but VA is our starter for a reason. We have a top 4 seed and sole possession of the Big Sky on the line.

Unless injured, start the player who brought ya here...

He looked real rusty against OSU. :coffee:

Oh, I'm not saying he'd be rusty without playing against PSU. What I am saying is that Portland State always plays us VERY tough, and VA gives us the best chances of winning that game. Anyone who thinks this is a gimmee based off of records is nuts. Remember, we barely beat them last year.

Could we do it with Vitto in the game? Certainly, and I'd love to see him play - after we build a comfortable lead.

Just bustin' your chops a little Ranger.

I VA is healthy, give Vitto the start for one play and then VA until it's well in hand. :thumb:

Don't think coach B has made it a practice of starting seniors for the sake of senior day ... I imagine VA will start if healthy and Vitto will play if circumstances allow. :twocents:

I believe that he has done it a few times. I recall Beumonte starting at tailback the last game of 2010. QB is of course a bit different situation.

VA wouldn't be sitting the whole game, or even most of it. The idea behind Vitto getting the start would simply be to honor him since he's a senior and put in his time. He'd get the first series, then it would be all Adams until the game is in the bag.

Off topic:

Kaufman and Vitto were Dressler roommates freshman year. I lived on the same floor as them. Vitto is a good guy, and generally stayed out of trouble. I had a high opinion of Vitto (except when him and Kaufmann played rockband on early weekend mornings).

Kaufman a owned a prized a giraffe statue that he may have gotten at a yard sale. During a prank war, the giraffe mysteriously disappeared from his room. He posted lost giraffe signs around the building and campus. I am one of the few who holds the secret whereabouts of the kidnapped giraffe.

I agree. Plus, it's not like Baldwin would be starting Timmy from the short bus. Vitto has done a great job every time he's been called upon. He doesn't have as many dimensions as Vernon does, but we're not talking about him going wire to wire.

That he didn't take any snaps in practice until Thursday or Friday and it may be a game day decision on whether he plays. Hopefully this is bad info.
