Anyone else

sometimes wish you could have gone to a school with a bigger (better?) football program, pageantry and atmosphere? Sometimes it feels like I missed out and not being a part of a real college football experience. I enjoyed my time at UNC, but it's one of my regrets.

Watching some of these games on TV has me feeling that way and it's kind of a weird feeling. Anyone else get this sometimes?

I know what you mean. We were really good at football when I attended UNC (1990-1994) and most of the students still didn't care. Half the students were home in Denver for the weekends so that probably didn't help.
I don't necessarily need that "big time" college atmosphere but it would be nice to have more passionate support.

I mean, even something like CSU can pull. They aren't a power house, but they have things going on and people who care. I was there from 2008-2012 full of 1 to 3 win seasons. I would see 2 vehicles tailgating in the lots before the game. Then travel to the UNC vs CSU game a few years back and noticed everything that was going on and a "college football atmosphere". All we had was that stupid cannon, and even that was removed. It kind of feels like a glorified High School game, at least since I have gone to school there.

I would say it has to do with facilities. Nottingham served us well when we were D2, and it IS a D2 facility. However, most of the Big Sky schools have bigger stadiums. I don't want us to demolish Nottingham, just get rid of the track, build permanent seating in the East stands, put the lockers in the actual stadium. 10-15million dollars, and that's it.

But...in reality you must ask yourself did you get a quality education at UNC? If yes, then athletics aren't that important in the bigger scheme of life.

I think the same way about Nottingham, get rid of the track and enclose the north end and install permanent seats on the east side . Turn it into a compact horseshoe !Take a build it and they will come mentality and I mean recruits and fans !

Ask yourself this: "What's the best university in the world?"
The answer should be. .."The place that I choose to attend"
Yes. ...things change over time. ...people change, places and programs change. My guess is that people who didn't care as undergrad students won't and don't care as alumni.
The fact is that now is the"good old days" for current student athletes. ...
The"big time" atmosphere comes with all kinds of strings attached. The positive and negatives of this level of program ate very apparent.
I have been very critical of our admin and coach. ...if this is hypocritical please forgive me....but it is what it is

Oh for sure, I'm not losing sleep over it at night haha. But just sometimes I wished there was a bit more in the football department. Although I stood in line for 6+ hours for the Big Sky Championship Basketball game against Montana. Now that was the most fun I have had at a sporting event, possibly ever.
