...Anyone watching ISU's spring practices ?......If so...how about some updates ?....tidbits ?...I know we are talking shorts and helmets right now....but anyone standing out , etc ?....thanks in advance....

Tomorrow will be the 4th day of practice of spring ball, all we have so far as I have seen is 1 news article and 1 video clip.

What can we hope for after this week? This is a "big year" for ISU, It will either be another joke, or something to be proud of. I want something to get me excited about it being the later, but I got nothin.

I'm thinking that if Kramer knew last year on the first game what the outcome would be for the whole year, Will we ever know what's happening with this team till its in the history books??

I'm just saying who can give me something to hold onto and believe in?

There is a lot of talent returning to the team this year but as with every team, there are question marks...the quarterback position of course is always important and can they avoid the injuries that crippled them last year. Plus you have a daunting schedule including in the Big Sky Conference.

Until the results start coming in starting in September, keep the faith. Your heart will thank you for it.

I think Kramer is justified in his goal to win 8-9 games. Whether or not this team will get close to that is still up in the air, but winning should always be the goal of a head coach. You wouldn't hire a coach that goes into the season saying he hopes to win a few games and then is surprised by a 8-9 win season. A coach needs to instill confidence in his team, his staff, and well as the community. I applaud him for the lofty expectations. We all hope for a season like that.

Well stated.

I am waiting for the first game to see Michael Dean electrify the crowd as a punt and kickoff return specialist. He has the moves and speed to get to the end zone very fast untouched. He made it look easy in high school in a competitive league in SoCal.

We are of course assuming that Kramer will allow players return punts and kickoffs. ;)

Didn't see a whole lot of that last year...

Why is that?

Kramer stated MANY times. His offense was built to drive down the field, not return kicks. I feel he's changed his tune a little for this year. But he's mentioned as to why many times last year.

What makes you think he changed his tune a little bit as we have not returned many punts and kickoffs the last five years? I only hear about improving the kicking game and improving the down field coverage on punts and kick offs so far this spring.

Up, all I can do I speculate with the rest of you as to what he's thinking, but what makes me feel he's changed his tune a little bit, is... When speaking about Michael Dean, he mentioned how fast and explosive he is, but said he is too small right now as a freshman to be a running back, so until he puts on some weight, he will serve as a very talented return specialist. Also, Kramer did start to let the kids return some punts and kick offs towards the end of the season last year. I think with those to things, it's showing Kramer allow himself to move toward returning more kick offs and punts.

May I add we (the fans) are not so concerned about the offense breaking yardage records as we are seeing 9 W's in the win loss column.
I think we all would enjoy a blow out in favor of ISU every week, but I'll take 1 point victories from short yardage offensive series' if ISU can scrounge them up.

I'm also intrigued that Kramer let the new coach have face time with the media so early, not typically his style.

Was at spring practice today and the thing that stood out to me was the receivers seemed to be having a very good day. Not a lot of drops. Quarterbacks looked on target for the most part although there were some overthrows on straight sideline patters, probably a timing issue between the QB and the receiver...that's still a work in progress.
