ANYONE WATCHING SPRING BALL ?...

Just got back from the scrimmage and am putting together a story on it for the Times-News but I did want to pass this along. Someone (Mike Kramer?) changed the times for scrimmages. I posted the info I was given and the times from ISU sports info earlier in this thread but right now scrimmages are going to be held at 11AM not 10AM save for the spring game which is still at noon.

I noticed Kramer was not wearing his orange and black puka shell necklace on his neck during his media interview after the scrimmage. Did he finally retire that necklace or not ? I guess we will find out on game 1. I am guessing he will be wearing that necklace on game 1.

Here is my story on the first spring scrimmage for ISU football for the Times-News FYI:

PBP - Every good written article about Kramer view on the scrimmage and what his team will be working on for the second scrimmage. I would like to see some questions asked to Kramer from reporters what they think rather than just reporting what Kramer says, like, "Will you give the green light to return specialist for punts and kickoffs this season"? "Will he start a true freshmen if a veteran player does not perform well in games"? and etc.

Up:

All good questions but the timing is wrong. Those questions are better suited in my opinion to Fall Camp Practice or the week before the season starts. Circumstances dictate a lot of what you are asking for (as far as what Kramer would / will do)...kind of hard to say anything right now, four months before Fall Camp and five months before the season begins.

It's nice that you're still writing the ISU articles for the Twin Falls paper PBP, and hopefully that will drum up a little more interest for Bengal football amongst the Magic Valley FB fans. But when we start winning consistently then that's the thing that will really create a lot more interest over there.

Story in the Journal today confirming that ISU has switched from a 3-4 defense to a 4-3 one.

Will be a different look this year.

....where's Mario Jenkins ?....just read the article on switching defenses and it doesn't mention him at all ???.....what's up...PDP ?...votb ?.....Skippy ?....

Good question. I assumed he wasn't mentioned because he is still rehabbing and not participating in spring ball. But then I could not find his name in the student directory, so I don't what that means.

Jenkins and Manu both will be limited in Spring ball. I can't imagine that they would participate in contact drills. Plus, there are a handful of other folks that are not participating in the spring do to minor injuries, grades or coaches decision.

Bengalcub is correct. I spoke with Mario a few weeks back, and he said his spring ball would be limited just to let the healing happen more and more into fall ball. Same thing with Zac Johnson and a few others.

Kramer told me that both Manu and Jenkins would not be participating at all in spring football. They'd be doing some individual work on the sidelines but absolutely no contact at this time.
