Approaching the Conference Tournament(BSC Tournament Thread)

So how do you all feel PSU matches up against MSU?

Really well I think. We gave away a double digit lead in the second half on the road to MSU. AW was a little under the weather that game, but I'm not sure how much of a factor it played. We can beat them on the road, but I'd feel much better at home.

When I saw Montana State at Boise State in December, I congratulated the Bobcats on a fine wrestling team... as an inconsistent BSU drilled them into the ground by 30-some points or so. PSU should vastly outquick them, and Washington's muscle should temper things.

One thing for sure... we don't want road refereeing against the 'Cats.

We all know PSU is the vastly superior team talent-wise. If the shorter rotation is continued, and PSU plays a balanced game they should win by 20 either venue. However, if Bone reverts to his old ways.....

And I'm happy to get MSU, especially after the way they played tonight. All the stars are aligning as they should.

GO VIKS !!

Just noting that the women's conference information is updated above.

Portland State officially clinched a conference tournament berth last night with a good win over Northern Arizona.

The ladies can finish 5th or 6th... and it's a matter of taste to determine who PSU would want to meet in the first round. Weber had Portland State's number during the season, last night's win split the PSU-NAU series, and Idaho State went to the last second in Pocatello last Saturday to beat the Vikings and split the season.

We ain't done yet. Portland State women play Weber State tonight in Missoula. The Vikings would be guaranteed a date against the Griz (and I hate this "Lady Griz," "Lady Viks," whatever) Friday if they win tonight.

Only problem- I can't find anything online in the O, nor the Ogden Standard-Examiner (they're kind of swimming in the men's berth, and who am I to question that). The Missoulian doesn't even get tonight's matchups right. The Daily Sun in Flagstaff expressed incredulity that the Viks would dare beat NAU last week to knock the Jacks to a 4-seed.

Kelsey Kahle, merely a sophomore, did make the all-Big Sky team.

Seems like the women could be pretty good next year. Anybody know if other teams lose key players, possibly paving the way for a tourny run?
