The Billings Gazette is doing series of articles ranking Big Sky players in each position group-

Three Bear defensive players made the list-

Top 10 Defensive Lineman - #4 - Lexington Smith, DT

Top 10 Linebackers - #5 Leilon Willingham, LB

Top 10 Defensive Backs - #3 Courtney Hall, DB

Are these 3 enough to turn things around for the defense? Who else will need to step up?

Still very concerned about the db's. Do you have any inside info on how Kerr's defensive system is working?

Haven't heard anything. From what I understand, the player practices consist of position drills and basically a glorified 7v7. No contact, even in the trenches. Probably pretty hard to glean much from that.

I'm expecting (hoping for) a much stronger pass rush this season. If Chapple and company can get after the opposing QBs, our defense will be much improved. A DB's job is a lot easier when there is constant pressure on the QB. Go Bears!
