Are we In????

So is it safe to say that we'll be in the playoffs? or do we still need to beat S. Utah?

I have to say that I wasn't too happy with the way we played N. Colorado at home. They are winless in conference and yet they threatened us for most of the game :ohno: :ohno: :ohno: I have to say they looked better than what their record shows. I don't know how I feel going into the SUU game. Thank goodness we don't really need this win. We should get in regardless of how we do at SUU.

I watched the game and thought NAU would stomp them but it was far from a blowout...
NAU's ranking says they should get in...
Win and in, good loss and in, bad loss and out?

Win and the Jacks are definitely in. Lose and they spend a sleepless night sweating all of the prognostication. My heart says they're in regardless of Saturday's outcome (ranked in the top ten...playing on the road vs. a top 25 team that just beat a top 10 MSU team) but my mind tells me that 8-3 seasons are often rewarded with a seat on the sofa in FCS football. Last year was a hard way to end the season.

UNC's defense last weekend was stout. They seem better then their record shows. S. Utah is going to be a major hurdle. Their defense is for real. Really wish I could have made the trek up to Cedar City for this one. Two years from now...sounds like a good goal.

Well, it looks like we're in :D :D :D :D :D Hope we get a game in the dome!! I'm excited as one gets. This is the first time since I've been following Jack sports that we make playoffs in football. Can't wait to see how this team performs in the tournament. Hopefully they give us a good show :thumb: :thumb:

I find it incredible that Montana gets a bye and NAU does not. Didn't we finish with a better record than them? Didn't we BEAT them? didn't we finish with a higher national ranking than them? What gives? Just because they make more noise in the football world doesn't make this right. I'm not saying they don't deserve a first round bye, but if they do, so should NAU. Fair is fair and this decision is BS. Seems like they are paving the road for them to make it far into the playoffs for the only purpose of making $$$$$$ :ohno: :ohno: :ohno: :ohno:

1. No NAU finished with a 9-2 overall record, while UM finished with a 10-2 overall record. While NAU had one less loss in conference, that one other loss UM got was to a team NAU didn't play.
2. Yes
3. No, the final regular season ranking came out this morning. Montana is #4 in the nation and NAU is 8th in the nation. Montana being 5th last week and NAU being 10th last week.

hmmm.

NAU conf. Record 7-1, overall record 9-2
MU conf. Record 6-2, overall record 10-2

NAU losses- Arizona, Montana State
MU losses- NORTHERN ARIZONA, Eastern Wa

NAU finishes 2nd in Conference, Montana 3rd. Doesn't this alone give you the sense that NAU got the shaft?

Money. Talks. So does reputation and "brand name". Therein the reasoning UofM got a seed and NAU didn't. Griz fans can pull out all the statistics and polls and validation they can muster but the fact remains that if the shoe was on the other foot, the streets of Missoula would be filled with pitchforks and torches on a Sunday morning.

SDSU is a tough, strong, power football team. This will be a challenge.

I'm looking forward to driving up for the game and rooting for NAU. Show up, Lumberjacks fans. Holiday weekend be damned...this is pretty big for NAU football.

King - I think you should sell an internal organ or something ( :) you don't need all of them) and fly down for this one.

Go out and prove the committee wrong, Lumberjacks.

   Ha!!! don't tempt me Mt. Jack, Had this been any other weekend, I would consider this. But this is one of the only weekends (Christmas being the other) where all my brothers and sisters (6 total) get together with the kids, parents etc and see each other. It's a special weekend family wise and I although I love my Jacks, my family is #1....so no, but will be following the game online :thumb: :thumb: Be extra loud for me a the game...and everyone in Flagstaff should be at this game. It's now or never. Exciting time to be a Jack!!!

I know - it sucks - we should have been the seeded team.

howdy
Good luck from this Cat fan in Bozeman! Represent the Big Sky well. SDSU will be a handful and wish you the best in the challenge. :thumb:
