Athletic Facilities

I've asked this before...where did Wood's brother and the SAC 12 go? And, depending on what version you want to go with, what is the status of the 30, 50 or 70 million dollars in NIL money?

Were actual funds ever received by the Sac12? I've always viewed those monies as pledges that were contingent on an FBS invite. BTW, the Sac12 website funnels online contributions through a 3rd party 501(c)(4). I have no idea what the legal reporting requirements are of a 501(c)(4) but I'm sure that info can be found somewhere.

Regardless, the NIL era was short lived as the NCAA put the reins on it via the "NIL Go" process to dictate what is a valid NIL deal. Revenue share is the era we live in now which is athletic "revenues" going directly to "student athletes".

And they wonder why the PACn and MWC didn’t return their phone calls?

Total loss of any credibility.

Wood #2 pivoted quickly when the Rancho Cordova Arena thingy grew legs. Parasites identify a viable host very well.

Charanjeet Tiwana.. that name really rings a bell.. where have we heard that name before..?

Oh yeah.. It was Luke Wood's Brother's company Koz-Pure..

Charanjeet Tiwana is Kozinets-Purewal President.

The same woman involved with Rancho Cordova.

Small world ;)

Is there more to that story of the Tiwani person?

I don’t think so, she is well educated and her husband is a hedge fund guy. She has some development experience.

What they actually achieved for SAC12 before jumping ship to Rancho is unknown.

Latest rumor - on campus stadium dead, cal expo dead. Public/private stadium share at railyards with Sac Republic and Wilton Rancheria on the table. Sac State needs more than 12,500 seats. 20-25k seats in design, helps MLS dreams too. I pretty much believe nothing until shovels are in the ground.

I agree this rumor seems very possible based upon our close working relationship with Wilton rancheria and sac state alumni.

Railyards stadium would be very synergistic. I think our downtown satellite campus may ease the passing of such a partnership.

I’ve never checked the locations of that campus area. But if it were close enough, a Sac State campus large capacity parking garage would benefit students and after hours / weekend events with quality parking which is also an important asset to building a downtown stadium w capacity of 20K fans!

I still prefer on campus. However if terms and conditions are written with exclusive Football for SAC ST. No F-ucd & no UFL unless Sac St benefits and approves.

SAC ST Football needs that PARKING Revenues to support the program budget as well. Monetize This and it could be amazing.

It’s better than current situation, but a huge letdown for me.

An on campus stadium could be the hub for football, for soccer teams, maybe a minor league affiliate, graduations, other major high school and campus events. Getting on campus students to events, to me, is more important for athletics development, and while not impossible at Railyard, is just different.

If Sac stays FCS, 12-15k is fine. There are a few FCS teams that need more. I think one outdoor stadium for the region serves the need, but college football affiliates who share stadiums always seem to get second fiddle. A 20k stadium doesnt probably serve a different concert need than Golden1. FBS might bring more, but a lot of lower FBS teams struggle to get 20k
