We went to the ISU-UM women's B-ball game yesterday and there was quite a nice crowd (over 1000) and the pep band did another great job - as well as the cheerleaders, dancers, etc.
Last night I watched a replay of yesterday's NAU-Sac State women's followed by men's b-ball doubleheader in Flagstaff. It was on one of the Fox cable feeds of games played yesterday afternoon.
The attendance for both ends of their doubleheader was an embarrassment. They play in their football dome like our men do and it was empty. For the women, I'd say that if they announced more than 200 attendees (and that may be generous) they are lying. The men's turnout was also paltry.
I suddenly felt a whole lot better about the crowds and the overall atmosphere and spirit we've seen at the Reed and at the Dome this season.
Go Bengals!
One more comment: the Big Sky reffing was as absolutely poor in that game as in the ones we see. I did recognize one of the striped culprits from Thursday's women's game up here. At least they (the refs) are consistently horrible everywhere.
