Baca for starter in 2012! win games.

Thanks for the opinion Mr. Baca. Your son is a good QB, not sure if he's better than Lobato though.

Your assumption is as insightful as your opinion Beardown. Now do me a favor and shut your mouth cause you don't know what the hell your talking about uh. Mr. 0-11. Lemme clarify zero wins- more than TEN losses. Shut your mouth cause you don't know shit.

umm i don't think any QB could have a win last year, Lobato made games exciting but no line and no running game and to still do what he did is impressive lets see what he does this year before we throw him away....just saying

What would you do-o-o for a KlondikeBear..... He K-bear, what's with the change of heart? You were Mr. Positive and now you're looking for a change? What's your reasoning behind wanting to start Baca? Did you see or hear something at practice?

K-bear you have to excuse Beardown as he/she is a complete fence sitter. Beardown was a complete Orms fan and was extremely vocal about Lobato being named starter last year. Somewhere along the line, Beardown has become a Lobato supporter just like he/she was with Orms. Neither quarterback performed up to expectation, so in a way I don't understand the devotion.

Here is the bottom line and you can read all of my posts and my stance has been the same. EVERY position on the football field is up for competition. Every practice during the summer should be a competition at every position and the player who performs the best plays! And during the season, competition starts fresh every Monday to see who plays on Saturday. If a player knows that his lack of effort at practice affects his play time on Saturday, you will get the most out of each player. COMPETE! EVERYDAY! This goes for everyone from the quarterback to the kicker! The cream will always rise to the top, so no player should have a problem having to compete every week for a starting position. Stop making excuses and stop blaming players for the reason the team is losing....the coaches have to step up and take responsibility for this team. When they do....the players will play hard for them. No player in any sport will EVER give a 100% knowing their coaches blame them personally for losses.

Here's my best example....if you are a teacher and give a test to your students and the majority fails the test, it's NOT the students. Especially if they fail 11 tests in a row!

You're right Lasergod we will never know because we never got to see Option B. And to use the term "impressive" is an absolute stretch.... Check his stats. Padded against 2nd and 3rd teamers. Ya know...I'm just sayin' :D

God, please let the Bears win 5 or 6 games so we don't have threads like this next Spring.

Baca might not even be the backup QB this fall. He's been seeing time at WR this spring and I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Tancik or Rubalcaba as the #2 QB this season.

This. I vote for klondikebear, and bearcrawls, to quit postings and making threads as well.

Hey if that helps the team then that's great. Did you hear about this or have you been able to attend spring practices? If you've been to the practices, how are they looking?

At least I'm man enough to say I was wrong about Lobato. I did have a problem with him being named #1, but it was the right choice. If Lobato gets a decent line in front of him and we get the running game going, he could be the best in the conference.

Veto! Hey if you have something to positive to say then bring it! But hoping, wishing and praying ain't gonna help this team win.

Here's something positive..... I expect the defense to be very much improved and help keep this team in ball games each week. The defensive front 4 will be good enough to allow the linebackers to be the playmakers. The DB's have plenty of game experience from last year but will need help front the front 4 to apply much needed pressure. The defense is athletic but the defensive coordinator needs to be creative to allow these kids to fly to the football. If that means he needs to run a 3-4 defense because he has more linebackers than lineman then do it.

I was at practice Saturday. He's got a seasoned savvy about him that's hungry when I watch him. Why do you think he's trying to play wr. The dude wants to get on the field and compete. Besides the quality throws he was making Saturday he's ready for a year under center and the writing on the wall wouldn't suggest otherwise given last years outcome.

Yeah, I like Baca and the coaches should get him on the field as much as possible. Tancik as #2? I think that could work but they need to redshirt Rebulcaba.

The biggest problem that I saw last year with UNC was that their o-line wouldn't allow their offense to get into any sort of rhythm. Get that fixed and UNC should be really competitive.

Hopefully having an o-line coach will help. They weren't coached up at all last season.
