Bad news Bears picked 8th - Media and Coaches poll

I guess the media and coaches think we will regress a bit this season. I'm not sure if I agree with them but I would put us a few spots ahead if we had Jace and Ryland playing this year. Now that they're not, it could be a long season. http://bigskyconf.com/news/2011/7/19/FB_0719113331.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Anytime a team goes through qb or a coaching change there is always going to be drop in the polls because nobody knows what to expect. From what I have seen UNC has made forward progress each year. You gave us a great game, almost beat Eastern, (laid down against the Griz ). Your QB is very talented and you return a pair of massive DT in the middle of your defense.

Losing linebackers like Eddy hurts, but UNC returns a lot of talent. Definitely not a team to overlook.

I can see us finishing above Weber and ISU. Weber lost a ton of talent.
:ohno: I hope you meant "PSU and ISU". Weber returns 14 starters, including it's entire offensive line, which was arguably the best line in the conference last year and is anchored by All-American candidate JC Oram. The offense also returns two experienced TEs, including one all-conference performer and one who would have started last season but had to sit with an injury. The defense returns almost everyone, and got a huge addition when DT Ryan Eastman returned after transferring to and then from Hawaii. They lost QB Higgins, but he was really only average last year. They also lost RBs Bo Bolen (704 yards) and Via Tafuna (551 yards) and their top two receivers in Collins and Phillips. New QB Hoke was terrific in limited playing time last season (his 162.7 passing efficiency actually lead the conference), and RB Josh Booker is talented and ran for 550 yards (6.0 yard average) last season. The biggest question mark is probably with the receiving corp. But to say that "Weber lost a ton of talent" is a bit of a stretch. Sure there are question marks with the skill positions, but my biased opinion would say Weber will surprise some people this year and surely won't finish below UNC.

You have good players coming back from the lines but your skilled positions are a huge ???
