212K base with incentives and base goes up 10K a year.

Good for Beau, much deserved!
Go Eags!

BOUT TIME!!!
CONGRATS COACH! :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:
So does he get an additional 50k for the summer camp or is that wrapped into it all?
If it is a addition that would be AWESOME for him~

This is huge for the program, if for nothing else our HC getting better compensation makes any potential future career moves less about money and more about opportunity. Big news. :thumb:

agreed, and hopefully there is a buyout clause in the contract to protect the program.

Something to reverse my depression about VA!

In all seriousness, this is such flipping awesome news!!!

It seems that some of the bonuses are a bit low from what I've seen with other coaches. But the increase in the base is the most important piece. Really glad to see this signed.

Great news but I'm surprised that Jim didn't post this himself. I thought he usually posts these types of articles.

He didn't post the VA interview article about transferring, either. Probably nervous to show his mug around here because he knows that we know that he's an Oregon alum. ;)

Great news for us. Beau deserves this deal and I'm sure we have a good buyout clause in place if/when he moves on. The other big positive is that this gets announced shortly before signing day. Recruits have to love hearing this news.

HELL YES! Congrats Beau, and from every Eagle everywhere, THANK YOU for all that you've done and will continue to do for EWU Football! :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

CONGRATULATIONS COACH BEAU, you deserve it and more. I know we have a very small budget, I just hope there was enough for your Assistants to get a little raise. I still don't think there is enough for the Big Sky Title,National Title, maybe if we could get some more seating etc, we can raise enough monies for our Coaches. WSU Coach just for winning the Apple Cup got $25,000.00, know they have a very "Bigger Budget" than us. Glad to see it all. Vic Wallace

Just outstanding. I am so happy for he and his family. Absolutely the right thing for the University to do and I'd hope they respond in kind as well to the other coaches on the football staff. They are among the best in the nation and we need to keep this group together.

Kudos to the athletic director Chaves and the new president for understanding how important it is to keep Beau at Eastern.

Does this include the assistant coaches getting a bean or two ???

I am really happy to see this. Like others have mentioned I hope others coaches got a bump as well, Beau can not be successful without these guys. The biggest surprise for me was the low incentives.

"As in previous contracts, it contains performance bonuses, including $2,000 for winning the Big Sky Conference championship; $2,000 for each win in the first three rounds of the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs; $4,000 for winning an FCS semifinal game, and $10,000 for winning the FCS title."

Yeah, and 2k for a win in the first three rounds of the FCS playoffs. Does a Bye count as a win in the first three rounds, or is a first round Bye essentially a forfeit of bonus dollars.

I think each round should be worth different amounts. And they should be more than they are. A Bye should earn as big, or bigger of a bonus then a first round win. A win in each consecutive round should net a bigger bonus, as each win would be considered a higher caliber victory. And the NC should be worth more than 10k.

For comparison, a MSU fan listed the incentives for coach Ash as:
$10,000 for playing FBS
$10,000 for big sky coach of the year
$7,500 national coach of the year
$5,000 8 win season
$7,500 9 and 10 win seasons
$7,500 playoff bid
$7,500 each round of playoffs
$15,000 Nat. champ. Game
$50,000 win nat. champ

I don't know how accurate that is, as it is the words of a fan. But the fan seems knowledgeable. I haven't been able to find anything on the internet to verify these figures, though. But if that is these are accurate, that is a huge disparity in bonus pay!

MSU can afford to quote those figures because they know Ash won't ever do any of those things. ;)
