Bank of Colorado arena

Looks like Butler Hancock will be renamed Bank of Colorado Arena. The corporate naming rights have begun. I have mixed feelings about this because the name is replacing two legendary coaches and I generally have a mistrust about corporations, especially banks. But the university can use the money. Here's a link to the article from Sam Mustari.

The BOCA (it means mouth in both Spanish and Italian.) I am sure they can find a way to play that into bear theme. Opponents come to the BOCA to get eaten alive, torn limb from limb... It's better than how our opponents refer to the arena now, the "Butt Cock" pavilion...

I am quite surprised (and impressed) that there is enough value in our basketball program to garner corporate interest in sponsoring our arena. We really have moved up in the world.

The money is good, calling that little thing an arena is a bit of a stretch but whatever...

I agree. Butler is a high school gym and not much more.

Does this open the door to a bigger arena in the future?

That would be nice. Look at what the University of South Dakota is building in 2015:

Something that nice could benefit the entire town but I doubt we could get that kind of funding.
