Terrific weekened series for UNC. They now stand at 7-7 in the WAC, 12-25 overall, and have increased their chances for making the WAC tournament later this month.

Game 1: Bears fight back from a late 4-3 deficit with 3 runs in the 8th & 9th to win 6-4. Minnick, Yamaguchi, and Tanner all had 2 hits for the UNC offense. Minnick drove in 2 runs and had a double.
Game 2: UNC never trailed in this one and scored 5 runs on just 6 hits. Yamane had a triple and was the only Bear with 2 hits. Alex Werbach was terrifc on the mound going 8 innings, yielding just 4 hits and 1 run, while striking out 8.
Game 3: UNC pounds UND 8-1 in the finale. Minnick and Cashel both had homers for the Bears. Maltese, Yamaguchi, Ek, and Cashel all had 2 hits for UNC. Nick Tanner had another strong outing (7 1/3 innings, 7 hits, 1 run, 8 K's).

The Bears have 3 WAC series left. Next weekend they host Grand Canyon for 3 games, followed by a non-conference match with Air Force on the 10th. They then travel to Seattle for 3 games and a final out of conference game at Washington. The regular season closes in Greeley May 19-21 against New Mexico State.
