Bears out of Spring FCS season

They just tweeted that they won't be participating in the Spring FCS season. A bummer but probably a safe move.
 
So bummed about this... I'm guessing it's not about safety but it's to save money I'm sure the budget is in dire straights..
 
And frankly, I am not sure I would want to sacrifice a year of eligibility for half a spring season (I assume that counts towards eligibility?).
