Bears Picked 7th by Media and Coaches

I'm being optimistic but I think they'll finish 5th or 6th. I think we can finish above Sac St or Weber St. Sac always seems to be the dark horse of the league but never seem to pan out and Weber lost a ton of talent from '09.

i think there wrong. we should be a mid pack conference team this year. i feel isu, psu, sac st. in the win column for sure. and there's at least 1, hopefully 2 more wins there. we have a good home schedule this year for some quality wins, if we all support our team! these guys should be a .500+ team this year, hopefully better. if we pull that off, the future is in sight to put us back on the football map. this year should lay a good foundation for the years ahead of us.

good luck to all the kids and coaches this year! make your school, family, coaches and, most of all YOU! proud to be a bear.........................................

I think right now this is probably about right, maybe even a little generous. The talent is there to be a middle of the pack team, but with our QB situation being wide open and none of them having game experience except Orms is a big reason for us being ranked where we are. We'll find out at the Weber St game on how good we're going to be, maybe even the Adams St game.

7th is generous considering they have never finished above 8th. The optimism is commendable but at some point they have to actually win a couple games before they get any respect. I realize I'm hated on here but, sorry, it's how it works.

I'm with you. Every July and August under "coach" downing, I have gotten excited about the prospects of a new season until I watch the first game. Even with downing's record, I find myself getting excited about this season too, but I can't help but think that the Adams State game is going to be a disaster. downing's teams are abysmally sloppy, they show no heart and the play calling is the worst I've ever seen. Then after getting embarrassed week after week he'll say something like "golly I thought our guys played pretty good." How anybody can possibly predict better than a one win season is nothing more than homer optimism.

When's the last time we truly were blown out of a game? It's been a few seasons. I would say we were in every game last year with the exception of two - Montana and EW. We've been snake-bitten with at least 3-4 games the past two seasons. I would say Downing's easy going persona isn't as it appears to us. I think he gets after the kids when they're not playing up to par and hates losing like every good coach.

Agreed. Would love to see them get off to a quick start, maybe with a comeback win. They have been amazing in finding ways to lose, that has to end sometime (I hope).
