Bears win women’s title

You have to give Northern Colorado a lot of props, they lost their best post player who was dismissed half way through the conference season, and then lost Savannah Scott, one of their stars, for a few games at the end of conference. They still won the regular season title and they crushed Idaho today, 91-69, to win the tournament.

Congratulations to the Bears and good luck in the Big Dance. They will likely have one of the better RPIs of any Big Sky women’s team going into the tournament. Here’s hoping they get a decent seed.

ESPN is projecting them as an #11-seed, which—if that holds—would be the highest for the Big Sky since Montana was a #9-seed in 1997.

A high seed for a Big Sky team and well-deserved. The Bears had a great season, overcame adversity and were the best team from beginning to end.
