Beat the Cats?? Predictions?

We have had some very competative games vs the Cats when the Eagles were clearly the better team. Are they an example of teams "playing up" against the Eagles? They rack up a lot of running yards mostly by their QB. Can we stop him?
IMO our receivers will have a field day Saturday opening up the run game for another record setting day on offense and our D will stop Murray and thus smother them.
Eagles 50's
Cats 20's

I like MSU but we have owned them on the field, something like 21-5 in our last 26 games.

They are improving but they are not there yet....

Eags 48
MSU 30

As discussed in another thread, this is a great opportunity for our D to step up and dominate a team. Montana State is fairly one-dimensional on offense. We need to show some defensive improvement in this one.

I really like Choate and what he's doing with the MSU program. I really think MSU will be a top Big Sky program again soon and be competing for championships. Right now, they're still a little bit too one dimensional and I don't think that can sustain when playing EWU's offense.

I like the Eags in this one 45-27.

Just a reminder for the one dimensional Cats argument: Murray threw 4 TD's and for over 300 yards against a top 5 team this year with at least a decent defense. Not saying that will happen Saturday, just don't be surprised if they make some plays through the air. He has capabilities....

In case anyone is curious about what the W/L series is... EWU leads the series 30-10.

EWU- 42
MSU-21

Are the Eags done with TO's and penalties? If so, this is a cake walk. After a close game on the road, Eags come out hot on both sides of the ball despite Choate and company game planning like maniacs this week.

I hope our defense makes a mess of your offense, I hope we can get to Gubrud and force some bad decisions. We'll need turnovers and we need to play flawless, and we haven't had much success at either yet.

I think we'll surprise you with physical we'll be on both sides of the ball, and as it looks on paper this is probably going to be a shoot out. My head and my heart are torn on this one.

Heart:
Cats 38
Eags 35

Head:
Cats 33
Eags 42

I have a feeling we still have more talent at skill positions over Mt St, however they are on the rise looking for a scalp, but this isn't the year.

Ewu 45- Mt St. 28

Realistically, I think they are going to have *a lot* of success running the ball on us with all the injuries we have on the interior of the defensive line. We are also pretty banged up in the secondary with several players still out for this game. I think this is going to be a good game and much closer than most on here predict. I think it’s possibke that our offense just out guns them, but also equally as possible that they slow us down enough to keep our offense off the field and limit possessions with their power running game. No doubt they are watching early film on our NDSU game and will most likely try to duplicate that. Granted, our offense has found more of an identity sunce then, but even against Davis we had a long period of time where it was 3 and outs before the offense finally found a rhythm in the 4th quarter.

This is always an extremely exciting game and there's no doubt we have a great rivalry with MSU. The 2014(?) game was an absolute Big Sky classic, and there have been quite a few others. I still remember the game we played in Bozeman during Erik Meyer's first or second year as a starter. If I remember correctly we were down big and had to mount a huge 4th quarter comeback to get the win.

Should be another barn burner. I will go with EWU 45-41.

Of the 1200+ yards rushing this season over 500 were by their QB. They have averages 250 yds per game rushing and 134 YPG passing. They have averaged 24 points per game, why is that going to increase dramatically this game??? While Murray is quick and evasive I do not see him able to break big plays like one of our receivers can. Given the nature of their offense I do not believe they can keep up with our offense.
Can they slow our offense down to their level? Doubt it. They would have to cut our offensive production in half. The Griz did a good job of keeping a lid on our receivers but they ran wild under that lid. . I stand by my earlier prediction, I think we can score 50+points and our defense can keep them in the 20's.

Murray leads the conference in rushing. It seems like they're just letting him ball.
