Beat the Cats?? Predictions?

Of the 1200+ yards rushing this season over 500 were by their QB. They have averages 250 yds per game rushing and 134 YPG passing. They have averaged 24 points per game, why is that going to increase dramatically this game??? While Murray is quick and evasive I do not see him able to break big plays like one of our receivers can. Given the nature of their offense I do not believe they can keep up with our offense.
Can they slow our offense down to their level? Doubt it. They would have to cut our offensive production in half. The Griz did a good job of keeping a lid on our receivers but they ran wild under that lid. . I stand by my earlier prediction, I think we can score 50+points and our defense can keep them in the 20's.

Murray leads the conference in rushing. It seems like they're just letting him ball.
My point was he is not explosive enough to score enough points to keep up with our offense.

I wish we'd script more plays for Gubrud to run the ball. It seems like we have fewer scripted runs for him. I'd love to see him take off more often, either when we face max coverage or when a play breaks down. It keeps an extra man out of coverage when they have to account for the QB coming up the middle. Frankly, we should have one scripted run for him each series.

Seems to me like every time there is a true scripted run for him it's a total crap play. I think he's much better when he was the option to pull the ball and take off. There have been a couple occasions where he has had a good chunk of green in front of him but stayed back patting the ball until he has to throw it away. I suspect he's being coached to do that.

I see your points and they are all good trains of thought but... always a but, I do not think it is worth the risk to design and call plays for him to run. I would open him up to scrambling more that would accomplish almost the same thing.

I agree. There may be some reluctance to have him run too much just because of the risk involved. He's been our best player by a country mile over the last four games, and losing him would be devastating. However, if we were strictly talking about needing to move the ball, having him take off a few times would open up the defense in a big way.

Defendthered was closest, but picked the wrong team.

 He/she does that a lot.

I honestly can't remember a game they picked EWU to win. One begins to wonder why they even try to claim they root for EWU...

There are two that come to mind that claim to be EWU fans "living in reality and not being homers." Reality tells me the Eags are 5-2, 4-0 and are winning games like in 2010.
