I have been reading many of the other schools blogs and they are doing a lot of discussing of schedules and players. I am curious as of right now, before players show up, start practicing, and start painting a picture for the fans. Where does everyone think the teams will line up? Will Weber be number one again? Do any teams have some studs showing up to up their worth this year? List your predictions and we will see mid year and at years end how close you were to your before season predictions...

Not sure about everybody else in the league yet but my first impression of our Bears is that we are short on "bigs". Take away Cody McDavis (expecting a big year from him ) and we are left with a couple of freshman. I see Svihovec, Huskisson and Lee carrying a big load. I think we have some great guards in Spence and Wilson and I am expecting big things from transfers Dwight Smith and Cameron Michaels. But I believe we will be in the top 5 in the league

I agree, I just wonder how bad losing the seniors is going to hurt this team, or will it give some of those that have been living in their shadows the opportunity to spread their wings and prove themselves. Top five gets us to the playoffs but I truly believe we could be much better than that this year, even without a true big. We should use the altitude in our favor and run people out of our gym, and even out of their gym when we drop down into their altitude.

I agree, that not finishing top 5 would be a disappointment. I think it really depends on how Cam Michael and other transfers fit in.

Cam is a beast and has fit in great thus far with the team. He is outgoing and shows a pretty good bit of leadership on the floor, not to mention the kid can just flat out ball (said in my best Stephen A voice.)

I have a feeling that 6-10 RS freshman Jeremy Verhagen will see a lot of time this year.

I agree, the problem with him is that he is not a banger. He can shoot from anywhere in the gym and has a great ability to protect the rim. He gets over powered by big centers but uses his athletic ability to give space but get to the ball in the air... At least that is what I have heard :D

He has working hard during the off season and has went from 195 to 225 since starting his red shirt year last year... He has also been working on his post game. So, we will see.
