Ben Mills - Recruit

Ben is a 6'11" Junior (high school) in Wisconsin. Currently, this Big is being courted by a number of schools. Weber has already offered a scholarship to this big, the bad news is that Utah State has also made an offer to Mills. If Weber were to sign him...He would be a Freshman after Panos' senior season.
Mills needs to put on some weight, but he is a high-quality big that would really help the team. He has good hands, rebounds well, and has a decent shot. Not only that, but he is a good student, and a hard worker willing to learn and to grow. Under Rahe, he would be shaped into an excellent player...

I want Mills really bad, no offense but we have kind of had weak inside play this season. I think that's why we don't do so well some games, teams aren't afraid of our inside game and they stack the perimeter so its hard for our guards to play their game. Don't get me wrong though, our bigs have had some good games and they are still young so it's to be expected. A 6'11 body would be nice to have though.

If he wants to play against teams like illinois, ucla, and arizona he'll sing with wsu. if he wants to play against teams like witchita state tech poly he'll sign with usu.

He's being heavily recruited by a lot of schools... So its going to be really tough to get him, but Weber looks like they will be a conference contender for a few seasons and that might be enough to get him here. Also, playing time will be a major factor, soooooo maybe he'll be coming.

We need a ligit big, ya a 6-8 post player is nice but if we can get the 6-11 Mills I smell confrence champs for his four years here, who wouldn't want to be a champion for their collegate career, I know I would. So Ben Mills if you get a hold of this, have class and join the WildCats.

Haven't heard if Ben has cut down his list or not yet, but I did hear that he has topped 7'0"... He will be a senior next year at Arrowhead High School in Wisconsin. The only Wisconsin team recruiting him is Marquette. However, their interest in him is low to medium. Weber offered him a scholarship last year. Hopefully, he will keep the Cats on his short list. He is looking to sign in the Fall Signing Period, which starts next september. Utah State and Montana State have also both offered him a scholarship, along with about 6 other schools.

Ran into Coach Rahe tonight at the Ogden Raptors baseball game, said they will be headed to watch some players down in Vegas next week, I asked about Mills and he is still one of the players that they are keeping an eye on.

Thats great to hear... Did you get a chance to ask him about any of the other recruits, or the schedule?

No, we were not in line very long together. He expects to be very competitive for the title this year.

Dang...bummer... If I would have seen him, most likely CATCAT and PURPLEFOGDOG would have been there also, we would have followed him to his seats continuing to ask questions. I'm glad that you have more restraint than us.

I keep hearing conflicting accounts about Mills. From some fans I hear that he is still contemplating Weber, but from others, I hear that there is a better chance of an ice cube surviving in hell than Mills coming to Weber State.

According to rivals Mr. Mills has decided to waste away in the Taco Bell Pavilion on the Campus of Boise State University.

Good luck in Boise Ben. I don't think he knows that Utah State, New Mexico State, and Nevada are the power schools of WAC basketball. To bad he didn't do any research. Wouldn't you rather go to a school that is going to win championships and go dancing? No worries... I hope he enjoys his time in boise and develops into a good basketball players.
