Bengal Tennis To Gain Two-Time 5A State Champion

2009 STATE OF IDAHO 5A GIRLS SINGLES CHAMPION: AMY BETTIS

Centennial High School senior Amy Bettis won her second championship in three seasons, defeating Eagle junior Amanda Pham 3-6, 6-2, 6-2.

Bettis, who plans to play for Idaho State, credited her teammates for helping her rally.

"I couldn't do it without my whole team," she said. "If they weren't there, I would probably feel really crappy. My team really motivated me."

Idaho State plays its matches tucked away in the back of Reed Gym by the racquet ball courts. Last year the team had just three indoor courts to compete on due to the construction on Reed Gym and no outdoor courts. The indoor courts are back at full strength with four as construction on the fourth court has ended. Also, the courts are beautiful as they have been resurfaced sporting a green court and a blue floor. Two courts are now available for use outdoors for students and faculty, but ISU will not be able to use it for competition. Previously, The Bengals had four doubles courts and two for singles outside for a combined six which the team used for competitions.

do we still have tennis?

Are you daft? If "Bengal tennis to gain two-time 5A state champion" is the heading, you can be assured ISU has tennis. I don't advocate banning someone, however, 44, you should keep your comments on the smack board. Seriously, you disrespect this young person with your comments.
