It appears both the men's and women's programs will participate in the Cancun Challenge this November. The women are slated to play James Madison and Davidson.

The 2016 field features Davidson, Idaho State, Iowa, James Madison, Northeastern, Purdue, Stanford, Toledo, UCLA and Wichita State. This marks the 12th year of the event and continues to draw programs eager to make a repeat trip to Mexico. This will be the fourth visit for Iowa (2013, 2010, 2007) and James Madison (2012, 2010, 2008); it’s the second trek to the event for Idaho State (2011), Purdue (2011) and Wichita State (2012).

Only half of the men's field has been announced, but the Atlanta Journal Constitution reports that ISU's men are a participant and will play Georgia State for at least one of its games...

AJC.com: Georgia State Panthers men's basketball will play in Cancun Challenge

Okay, so somebody help me out here. I read the AJC article, and it says this -

As part of the Cancun Challenge, the Panthers will play two other games before they get to Mexico — against either Auburn, Purdue, Texas Tech or Utah State. The opponents and dates haven’t been announced.

The four games will count as two played for Georgia State, which is an exemption allowed by the NCAA. However, all four games count in the team’s record and RPI

Will ISU also play 2 of the teams listed here in the states, so probably USU and TX Tech?

And if they are playing 4 total, but only count 2 because of the NCAA exemption, does that mean ISU could schedule, say, 32 games instead of 30? With 2 extra games to schedule, could they schedule a money game and then use the proceeds to buy a home opponent? Or could they schedule 2 money games, bank it, and use it if they are invited to a post season tourney?
