Best Utah Player

Who is Weber's best player to come from Utah? I know in the last decade my money would be on Lance Allred (he graduated from East) or Nic Sparrow (Weber High), but I'm well aware that there are a numbe of other great Cats to have come from Utah throughout Weber's illustrious history.

Overall, I think the best player from Utah to have played for the Cats is Jimmy D.

I would have to say Allred - the guy could take over the game and was the reason Weber won so many games when he was here. Rick Majurass showed his true colors. So how is Rick doing at St. Louis?

I supose that you may have to do each Position... Greatest... swingman Small Forward Jimmy D. for Three... True center High post ... Shawn Campbell 7'2" Layyton HS post great shotblocker... low post Lance Allread 6'10" East HS a load down low.. Power Forward,. 6'8" kurt Moore Bonneville HS..Jumped out of gym..
Point Guard Aaron McCarthy 6'2" St. Josephs HS .. Dad was Coach , Swingman 6'5" great Johnny Knoble hard nose player...... Honorable Mention 6'10" Tom Heywood East HS , 6'0 pt guard Robert Maxwell,.

You have to throw in Alex Fisher in this conversation. He is third in all time three pointers made. Plus he was a great pure shooter.

I'm kinda shocked that this thread hasn't generated more interests. Oh well....

I'm really impressed by your post Fatcat. Very well done.

i can't believe no one has mentioned Ogden's native son, GB. Not other Utah player had the cheerleaders doing a chant for himi

I wish that more post would also have generated comments but guess we really don't look at the Utah players as the stars. They seem to be more of role players than stars.

Well Mahoney may not get much love on any "best of" list, but boy do I love how he plays and would say our recent success has much to do with his tough interior defense.

Since we have reached the bench now, Brad Barton was one of the best passers I have seen in the past decade. Diabetes kept his minutes down, but he was a terrific role player.

I would probably put my money on Josh Cottle... That layup he had against Sac St was unbelievably b-e-a-utiful. That layup is on the best of in the Weber State highlight video of 2009.

And to say something about Talmadge Eyre, the backup center to Chocolate Thunder, he had three steals and a block not four steals... talhadfoursteals... you idiot.

I saw bengalhater beat Danko once. So I'd throw him in there as well.

Dont be hatin since you cant beat my F-zero records that you erased!!!

I'm really glad someone mentioned Brad Barton. A lot of folks forget that Brad was instrumental in the 02-03 teams success. He was a hell of a fun player to watch. The best, and unfortunately, I only heard it, was his play against Eastern to secure Weber's undefeated season in 02-03. He stripped the ball away from Hester and hit a three with time running down. After the game the cheerleaders and WALDO danced on the Eagle emblem at mid-court. Weber's cheerleaders are no longer welcome in Cheney.

Son, you have been invited over to witness my record on F-Zero. I beat your record by a couple hundredths of a second. You will not be able to beat my record now no matter how hard you try.

Talhadthreestealandamonstrousblockthatknockedoutchadgerrity........... and loooooooooooooooool!

Too bad F-Zero is not a two player game. If it was you would lose a few times, I would lose a few times. I'm going to challenge you to an F-Zero dewl!!!
