I thought we had a great crowd, considering that it was Labor Day weekend and blazing hot. The crowd was so big it made the earth tremble.

The East side stands were pretty empty which wasn't surprising with how hot it was, but the West side of the stands was very well represented.

I think I actually felt that earthquake but I think at the time I attributed it to these kids walking up the bleachers. Felt a little bit more powerful than that at the time.

Up in the press box, 6th floor, the whole building swayed. It was just after the National Anthem. We knew right off that it was an earthquake. The WM coaches, right next to us, had shocked looks on their faces. They were a little more upset when their guy clotheslined our punt returner and got called for it. They were banging on every surface they could find.

No, in some accounting maze of circular logic there may have been 9450 "sold" but there was not 9450 in attendance. We've already well established that fake attendance is what's most important, not how many are actually out supporting the program. Everybody does it though, so it's OK.

I will say, however; the student section looked larger and more supportive than typical. It's still much smaller than what you'd like to see but I thought it was an improvement.

While i dont think there was 9000+ at the game there did seem to be more fans than in week 1 and it was cold and rainy

It was a strange game, as far as the attendance goes. The attendance doubled between the first and second quarters. I thought that the 5:00pm start time may have had something to do with that. I think fans may have been thinking it was a 6:00pm start, like it usually is. Anyway, people were streaming in throughout the first quarter. They were streaming out in the fourth quarter. There were also about 4 times as many fans in the luxury boxes than there was for the first game. The stadium holds 16.000 plus the box seats. The reported attendance seemed about right to me. I'd like to see us get 16,000, but that might be a few more years of winning.

http://www.standard.net/Education/2017/10/12/Weber-State-sees-record-breaking-enrollment-yet-again.html

Speaking of attendance, Weber has it's highest enrollment total ever with 27,949 students (18,699 non-concurrent and 17,183 full time). My guess is that about 5-10% of the non-concurrent students ever attend a football game.

I guess that would beg the question; What is being done to market campus activities to this large group of concurrent students? Is athletics doing anything to reach out to them? What about their families?

It does sound to me like athletics is at least trying to reach out to the on campus students. We all think that there is more to be done, but at least we are seeing a better effort. :coffee:

Any interest in including the population of the county of the school and current enrollment to this list? My guess is it will make a very decent Weber team's support look even worse than it already does.

i was impressed seeing a big crowd at cp even though they haven't won a conf game yet. they still haven't even had homecoming
