Big Sky Championship, Game Day!

There have been 36 Big Sky Tournaments and 13 times the regular season champion did not get the automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.

Weber State is 66-48 vs Montana, 41-14 at home, 25-33 away from home. Weber is 5-5 vs Montana in the Big Sky Tournament.

BSCT started in 1976. Griz have hosted the tournament 5 times including this year and twice they lost the tournament. In 1978 they hosted and Weber won the tournament. Weber has lost the conf tourney at home 4 times out of 11 and once to the griz (2010).

Can Weber get payback for 2010?

Winner goes to NCAA, loser to NIT. Hosting school, if loses conference tournament gets automatic big to NIT, a rule that started I think in 2008-09. The last year the Big Sky sent a team to the NIT before this rule was 2003; EWU finished 9-5, 18-13; 2nd place in Big Sky and lost championship game by 1 points.

This is probably the first season since 1989 where you might think it doesn't matter if we send the first or second place team from the Big Sky to the big dance. Either would be a good representative. Of course we hope the road team wins tonight!

In 1989 Boise had 23 wins and 2nd place Idaho had 25 wins. You might say 2006 or 2009 are up there but not quite like this year.

Anyone on here remember that 1990 season? (Maybe not since it was the golden Era of Farmer-Huston.)

Weber beat the Griz by 16 in Ogden.
Griz beat Weber by 15 in Missoula.

Hopefully it can be a triple OT game!

Otis did not play against PSU. Does he only play against the Griz? If he plays tonight that means he will have played in 4 conf games, 3 against Montana. :-D

he was saved for the chipper...
i'd guess he'll Play 15-20 minutes tonight...
our 4 man bench could be key tonight...
we should be have more legs tonight than UM...

Yeah...I found that really weird that Otis didn't play against PSU. With Chehales on the court, you'd think that the Wizard would want a quicker 4. Oh well, Fulton and Mahone had solid games against Tapscott. I'm hoping Bull and Otis have good games tonight. Gotta be able to spread the floor more. We need more balance.

Lets go Cats!! Get a big win in Missoula and bring home the Championship Trophy!!

After Weber wins tonight, I'm thinking the Cats will end up with a 14 or 13 Seed. Montana will like the NIT.

Risky move though, there almost wasn't a "chipper"

It was weird, to me, at least, that Rahe didn't use Otis yesterday. It seems like he would have done a better job of guarding C. Tapscott. If this was in fact Rahe's plan, then I hope it works out. K Bull didn't have the best game yesterday. I was a little confused seeing Kyle guarding Odum at the first. I think a 3 guard lineup was best against the Vikings. It sure was at the end, when Weber used its speed to frustrate and bog down PSU.

Across the board:

We need payback for 2010!!!! All the pressure is on the Griz. I have a good feeling about tonight. Last weeks loss will be a blessing in disguise.

So mad I'm going to miss game. I'll be 35,000 feet in the sky flying back east. I hope to get off the plane with a text of a Weber Victory!

You Can Do It Cats!!!!
