Big Sky Conference plays starts [EWU, thurs]

Final score; 74 - 53. Weber wins easily. Sounded like a good all around game. Did we play our best game? No, not by a long shot. This team will likely get better up to the very end.

On to Portland State. Expect a tougher game. We always seem to play well at PSU. Bring it on!

Some nice game photos at this link:

Those are some nice pictures.

They were obviously impressed with Joel's shot blocking. It's a lot of fun to watch this kid develop. I predict a lot of double doubles and a few tripples for good measure, during his career at WSU. I can't wait to get Hill into the mix next year. We are transforming into a team that blocks a lot of shots, rebounds and runs the floor. I'm liking all of it.

Go Wildcats!!! :thumb:

That was a fun game to watch. Very good team victory. I love how our top two scores dont even hit double digit scoring and we still roll EWU by 21 points. I give the MVP to Richardson. He was great. Bolomboy was the man again. Just missed a double double by one point. His one handed put back dunk was a thing of beauty. Otis and Tres were solid. It was good to see Fulton come in and hit some 3's. I think our depth in the post is what separates us from the rest of the conference. Its great having 5 good players in the post. Areas for improvment. Hajek seems a little down. He needs some confidence back. I think he can be as good as Tres, but he seems to be in a little funk ight now. I would like to see Wheelright be a little more aggressive on offense. He is cat quick and is a very good shooter and slasher. I would like to see him average about 8 points a game. But still very good win to open conference. Lets keep in up in Portland.

I continue to be impressed with Bolomboy. Hard to imagine how high his potential goes. Glad to see that Fulton got some minutes and hit some big 3s when it looked like EW might make a run. Can't help but think about next year with Tres, Bolomboy, Fulton, and Hajek. Will be interesting to see how Hill and Fuller fit in.

Of the 6 post players, next year, 2 will be seniors, 2 freshmen, a sophmore and a junior. The program is set up to be good for a long time. Of the 2014 recruits, at least one will need to be a center. We will have one center coming off a mission that year. I think that Hill plays one year at the 4 spot and three years at the 3. That makes it even more important to get a center in the 2014 recruiting class. Maybe we should just follow Montana around and pick off one of their recruits. They always seem to find the good bigs. :coffee:
