Big Sky in Bracket Buster

Weber vs. San Jose State: Weber should leave San Jose with a W. Keys to this game: Keep the inside out game going, good ball movement, limit TO, keep San Jose off the boards, and keep Adrian Oliver under 20. A W over the WAC is never a bad thing for the Big Sky. WEBER WINS

Northern Colorado vs. New Mexico State: UNC's game against the Aggies should be a pretty good matchup. UNC has to get more participation offensively from Kingman, Kaba, and Montgomery. Beitzel will get his, but if UNC wants to leave Las Cruces with a W, then they will need someone else to step up. I'm thinking Proctor might be the wildcard in this matchup. UNC in a tight one

Montana State vs. Idaho: MSU needs more than a miracle to pull off a W. A month ago, I thought the Bobcats would get a W in Moscow, now not as much. If MSU wins tomorrow it will be behind the efforts of Howard, Rusch, and YES Cody Anderson. MSU needs their bigs to show up. Even if they do, it'll be tough getting a W against the resurgent Vandals. vandals

Montana vs. Long Beach State: This might be the best game this weekend. Montana needs their defense to show up and the "BIG" three to click offensively (Cherry, Selvig, and Qvale). I think the wildcards in this matchup, like most UM games, are Jamaar, Autry, and Steward. I'm hoping UM

Sacramento State vs. Southeast Missouri State: Honestly, I'm thinking SAC will prove that they are better than a lot of people think. I'm seeing a Hornet W in this contest. A Sac W, will raise the conference's overall RPI. Sac can't get much lower, but this game will be proof that the Hornets are improving. SAC WINS

Portland State vs. Loyola Marymount: I hope the talented PSU squad shows up. Loyola isn't good, they aren't very talented, and they are not disciplined. Well...PSU isn't very good and they aren't disciplined, but they are extremely talented and they are at the comfy confines of the Stott. I'm thinking that the Vikings can pull off the W, but its going to be really close. At Home the Viks Win

Northern Arizona vs. Cal Poly:
NAU is far better than their record will indicate. However, they are still having a serious problem maintaining their consistency. Cal Poly is improving and look like a formidable foe for the Lumberjacks. If Johannsen, Platt, Rogers, and Stallion, show up and help Jones...then YES the Lumberjacks will win handily. However, and they haven't been, if they don't...YIKES..Close W to the Lumberjacks

Idaho State vs. Cal State Fullerton: I know ISU isn't very good, but they are better than Fullerton. The Bengals need this win. Forget that, OB needs this win. LOLLERTON gets upset at the tator barn

Eastern...no game.

I know some of you might think I'm smoking something (PURPLEFOGTURD supplies it to me), but I'm thinking the Sky has the potential to go 7-1 or 6-2 this weekend. If they happen to go 8-0 expect to see the conference RPI go up, which will help the eventual tourny champion get a better NCAA seed. Also, it could get more Sky teams in post-season tournys.

SERIOUSLY? This post has got some serious appeal to it. Talhad must be bored at work or something. Looks like you put in some time on this post. Only thing missing is game times, whether or not you can find the games on Big Sky TV or on the TUBE. I know that the Long Beach vs. UM game is on Dos Espn. Also, you can find the UNC vs. little ags game on Altitude II. SInce CATCAT is in a position that has little or no responsibility, I expect to see him do these type of posts. I guess his sub-contractors in India made him work today.

tal -- not that it really matters, but the Bobcats host Idaho in Bozeman; the game isn't in Moscow. Cats are much better at home than we are on the road, so I am gonna give us just better than a 50/50 chance.

I thought eastern washington had Cal State Northridge....it is on their schedule. Did a change happen?

THe Big Sky conf website says that EWU hosts Cal State Northridge on Saturday at Reese Court 7pm Pacific

As for Eastern...I'm thinking they should be able to beat Northridge. It'll be sad, if Weber is the only team to lose.

San Jose State 62, Weber State 46
Idaho State 84, CS Fullerton 69
Northern Colorado 82, New Mexico State 80
Idaho 65, Montana State 50
CS Northridge 68, Eastern Washington 59
Portland State 84, Loyola Mary 75
SE Missouri State 67, Sacramento State 52
Northern Arizona 59, Cal Poly 56
Long Beach State 74, Montana 56

vs big west: 2-2
vs wcc: 1-0
vs wac: 1-2
vs ovc: 0-1

big sky went 4-5 in bracket busters
big west went 2-7
wcc went 0-2
wac went 7-1

It would have been nice if the Sky ended with a winning record, but 4-5 isn't too bad. I'm worried about the ISU game. Weber didn't have any energy on Friday and played for poorly. they can't come out on Tuesday night thinking they have already won the game. There aren't any freebies. San Jose proved that.

Don't lose faith in this team because of one non conference game. The team has still won 6 straight conference games and something like 20 plus at home in a row.
