i have followed the caoches/media for 10 yrs. i have NEVER seen this. maybe in 2000 before the show/thrill senior yr maybe.
media poll we didn't get 5 of the the 24 votes. last yr there was 27 voters. i would love to know who gave unc a first place vote. probably the 4 montana votes were in the state of montana. but coaches poll is the one to focus on.

UNCO?? That one kinda caught me by surprise. PSU, Eastern, heavens, even MSU I could see getting a first place vote, but the Cubbies? Well, maybe they know something I don't.
I think Eastern will be second and UM third. You heard it first here.

griz and weber look close together but i think this is because no one is confident in any other teams for the votes. 1st place and 2nd place point values must be similar since we got 100% of the possible coaches 1st place votes and 80% of the media 1st place votes.
now the team can go prove they are worthy of the 1st place votes and then next yr, us, the fans can complain we didnt get every vote possible. :lol:

I don't know about a 3rd place finish as per the Coaches Poll, but I have a hard time seeing us finishing 6th as per the media. It seems like they just looked at who made the Big Sky Tournament and then made their list based off of that.
I think EWU finished somewhere between 3rd and 5th in the Big Sky this season. We have a solid group of returning players, plus Hayford has done a good job of bringing in some new talent. Be on the lookout this season for Collin Chiverton, 6'6 SG transfer from San Fran City College. He has the ability to be one of the better swing-players in the Big Sky this season.

Yeah, Chiverton should have a huge impact, I am excited to watch him play. The impression I have gotten from the media is that a lot of them haven't really done their homework on the teams outside of the one they cover. Thus, you are probably a little too right in that they just looked at last year's standings and went off that. I have EWU at #4.
