Big Sky Tournament To Vegas?????

I am not in favor of this move, but it appears headed that way to save money.

It is thought that the league will discuss it at their May meetings.

The one positive is that it might help the league develop a stronger marketing program for basketball, something that seems to be in the culture, open the doors and they will come, NOT.

Money is always an issue, but there also is something to be said about creativity and thinking outside the box.

Basketball needs to be more highly thought of from the top down.

Thank you.

Hmmm. I rather like the regular season conference champion being rewarded by hosting the tournament.

I guess we'll see how it plays out.

MM:

And of course, I am sure the decision makers look at the fact, per the attendance figures the Vikings could not even sell out for the women's big sky tournament this year.

This is not the best of sports towns, but come on, 1,200 people, it is attainable hopefully in my life time.

If this is approved by the Big Sky, I don't know how Vegas will do this since it already hosts TWO other conference's post-season tournaments, the Mountain West AND the WAC!!!!

Wyokie:

How about three other tournaments, WAC, Mt. West and WCC.

So how about a new home, the Rose Garden?

If we had an aggressive approach in this town, rather than more bike paths, why not go after it. Spokane gets everything, we get the crumbs. Our Sports Authority here is a joke.

Portland State would be a great host school, but there are some people in all avenues who do not think outside the box. Vegas has people who do so and I think the tourney is headed there. They have another casino venue, which would love to host a basketball tournament.

I have not really been following this that closely, and only heard rumors that the big sky tournament would be moved to vegas. Has it been confirmed already?
