big sky tourney who is in who is out

We squeak out a win at home against ISU (not good, needed to have a good solid win there but I guess a win is a win at this point). I'm not sure who to cheer for from here on out. Sac, NAU, and MSU all have the same schedule from here on out. I dunno who to cheer for in the NAU-MSU game on Thursday. I guess all that really matters is that the Hornets win 1 of the last 2.

Given that UM is not healthy and they have a Monday game heading into our Thursday match=up with them I'd like to think we have a small chance at pulling an upset if we can shoot better. Regardless of what happens the Hornets have to knock off MSU in the final BSC game. Crazy finish to the season.

And of course if SUU loses out (they are hom vs UM, then at UNC and UND) they are in the mix as well.

Let me help out...CHEER AGAINST MSU ALWAYS !!! They like playing the spoiler role and could be dangerous in Missoula if the tourney is there!

i updated the OP to reflect current. if ewu loses to isu on thurs, they are eliminated and then its basically down to nau/sac/msu for final spot or maybe even suu?

Eastern is starting to find themselves, much like the cubbies and UND are figure some things out. It is too late for the Eagles, but they are finding their team for 13-14. UNCO needs a PG...they have all the pieces to compete...and UND well, SR laden team with a lot of experience. They stay healthy they will be really good next year. YES, even MSU could surprise us. If they get a couple of solid bigs and a coach who can mesh his individuals into a team, then the bobs could end up being pretty good next year. Needless to say, the Sky SHOULD be better next year.

MY Picks:
1. Weber (I'm a homer and I have hope)
2. UM
3. UND
4. SUU (kinda has to happen for Weber to host)
5. UNCO
6. NAU
7. SAC

8. Bobs
9. Eagles
10. Vikings
11. Bengals

At the end of EVERY season you are always saying HOW MUCH the Big Sky will improve from the previous year. :blah: :blah: :blah: We have yet to see that.
Last year, this year, next year, hell even 3 years down the road, the Big Sky will still be just a 2 team league. I could MAYBE stretch that to 3 real teams once the Vandals join. :twocents:

Are the Idaho Vandals a basketball power? I'm being honest here...what's their history. I haven't seen em representing the WAC in the NCAA's. NAU, PSU and UNC have had their share of success over the last 5-10 years but haven't been able to keep the momentum up after players/coaches left. Other than WSU and UM, the Big Sky is down. I won't argue that point with you. But if you can't see NAU and ISU improving from last season to this season then you're not looking very hard. UND has been a better addition to the conference than most predicted. The Sky could be worse off.

4 teams tied at 8-10 wow for 5th place.
there are only 3 spots for these teams assuming unc gets 4th which is very likely.

sac and nau need a win in missoula or bozeman.

SUU's loss just made this season's finish even crazier. I hope we can pull out one of the games in Montana.

if sac and nau both end up with a win in bozeman and suu doesnt win again. suu would be out even if suu and msu tie for the last spot with a 8-12 record. msu swept suu.

Here's my best guess:

1. Montana: Obviously controls its own destiny and clinches with two wins at home; can still clinch with one but the road gets a little murky. Oddly, a Montana State sweep this weekend clinches the league for Montana assuming UM wins at least one. Go cats!!

2. Weber: Unless Montana falters, Weber is locked in at the second seed.

3. NoDak: They are the 3 seed no matter what happens this weekend.

4. I think MSU sweeps this weekend's games and ends up at 10-10 also. However, they win the tie-break with UNC based on splitting with UNC, but beating Weber.

5. UNC: I think they beat SUU at home and get to 10-10

6 -7: Sac, SUU, NAU: I believe all 3 get swept this weekend and fall to 8-12. I'm too lazy to figure the tie-breaks for those spots.

Note, Eastern can also get to 8-12, but would need to sweep this weekend's game, including one at Weber, so.....
