Big Sky vs Bracketbusters

How does the Big Sky do in the Bracketbusters this year?

How many wins, how many losses?

WILDCAT's predictions

Sacramento State @ UC Santa Barbara- Very winnable game for the Hornets, but they seem to be collapsing and they are on the road. Edge to the home team.

Northern Arizona @ Hawaii- Pretty evenly matched teams, this one comes down to the wire, but once again, edge to the home team.

Northern Colorado @ UC Davis- I have a gut feeling that the Bears pull it off, but if they cant hit the 3 like in thier game vs N. Dakota then it could get ugly fast. Game could go both ways.

North Dakota @ Nebraska-Omaha- One of the "easier" Big Sky wins in the Bracketbusters

South Dakota @ Montana State- South Dakota is not that good, and MSU is at home. Come on Bobcats you should win this one.

Cal State Northridge @ Southern Utah- Pretty even game, N.Ridge is a better team than thier record indicates, SUU at home though. Going with the T-Birds

Idaho @ Idaho State- Would love nothing more than to see the Bengals take down the "high and mighty" Vandals, but I dont see it happening.

Sam Houston State @ Eastern Washington- Niether team really shines, but gotta give the home team the edge in this one.

UC Riverside @ Portland State - Portland State, you cannot lose to these guys at home.

Montana @ Davidson- Davidson at home, really really good home team, long travel, and UM without thier best Big Guy. Would be a great win if UM could pick it up, but I doubt it.

Weber State @ Oral Roberts- Probably one of the most evenly matched games on the Braketbuster schedule, #1 offense shines in this one, but we better make our freebies.

So I'm thinking the Big Sky goes 7-4

i think 3 wins, is that too low?

i think with the way these games are set up it should prove how good or bad the sky really is this year. any big sky teams winning on the road would impress me. i think 7 at best and 2 at worst.

Thank you Wildcat for doing this. I was too busy to get to it today.

SAC @ UC Santa Barbara: I think Sac is a fairly competant road team. Out of all the teams who have visited the Dee, other than BYU, they played the Cats the toughest. Also, they beat Utah at the Huntsman Center. I think a win over a very young and leaders Santa Barbara team is possible. 40% Hornets win

NAU @ Hawaii: biggest issue is whether or not Jacobsen will play well for the Jacks. In the games the Jacks have been most competitive in, Jacobsen plays extremely well. I think the Jacks win no matter what, they are after all headed to Hawaii in the middle of Feb. 35% Jacks win.

UNCO @ UC Davis: I think the Cubbies win this one. They are starting to play a lot better as a team and are starting to mix. Team chemistry and leadership has been a serious issue for the cubbies. Things are starting to look up for them. 55% Cubbies win.

North Dakota @ Nebraska-Omaha: Uh...UND wins going away in this one. UND is going to prove they are a fair better team than where they have been statistically and RPI wise all season. Finally, the Fighting Sioux are playing with a full deck, as long as Brekke can stay out of foul trouble. 65% Sioux win.

South Dakota @ Montana State: Same as UND, MSU is a far better team than what their RPI indicates. The Bobs had some trouble meshing before the season started, and, at least in my opinion, the problem has been the bobs inability to play as a team. When they do that they are very dangerous. 65% bobs win

Cal State Northridge @ SUU: The Birds should win this game, but who knows. Northridge is in the midst of a rebuilding project, as are the birds. This one will be interesting. Good thing the Birds have the Matadors at home. An old Sky member vs. a new Sky member. Represent well birds. 50% Birds win.

Idaho @ ISU: OF COURSE I WANT TO SEE THE BENGALS WIN!! Will they...hmmm...I'm not so sure they will. The final score for both teams could be in the 50s or 40s...something like 52 - 49 (OT LOOOOOL). Like the birds, good thing this one is in the lolt. 50% Bengals win

Sam Houston @ Eastern: Eastern is such a Jekyll and Hyde type of team. They are young and a bit out of control. If Jois plays and plays well. Eastern wins and wins big. If not, well...who knows. Eastern should come away with a win, no matter. 70% Eastern wins

UC Riverside @ PSU: PSU is far better. Riverside already got beat by MSU in Boze. I think the Vikings should be able to beat Riverside, but...they are poorly led, and don't really play together. So who knows who will show up. 55% VIkings win

UM @ Davidson: Without Ward, I really don't see UM winning in this one. I think they can, but it'll be extremely hard. Would be really nice seeing the Griz upsetting Davidson at their place. 35% Griz win

Weber @ Oral Roberts: Weber is the better team, but the game is in Tulsa and it'll be reffed by the idiots from the Big Sky. 55% Weber wins

I'm thinking the Sky ends up 6-5 or maybe 7-4...but most likely 4-7 hahaha

2 games done so far. und and griz both lose. griz lost a very close great game in ot. i saw it on espnu. cherry left with ankle injury with maybe 3 min to go and didnt play in OT. not good. he was on the bench with ice on his foot. maybe a minor sprain? jamar was amazing, i think he had a triple-doulbe.

Will's NCAA career could be over with this injury, it could be his foot re-broken. Even a sprain will limit his mobility the rest of the year and that is going to be a huge impact to the Griz, even more so with Ward injured.

Jamar with 28, 12 boards, 8 assists. Got to respect his game.

after 6 games. 2 big sky wins, 4 losses. 1-1 vs big west.

remaining games:
Weber State at Oral Roberts, 6:30 pm
CS Northridge at Southern Utah, 7:30 pm
NAU at Hawaii, 8:00 pm
Sac State at UC Santa Barbara, 8:00 pm

Wildcat goes 7-3 so far, MSU plays on Sunday so I could end up going 8-3 if MSU wins, and the Big Sky could finish 6-5.

I said 7-4, curse you North Dakota

Montana State down 7 at halftime 36-29 against the Coyotes of South Dakota, come on MSU, your hurting my predictions

CURSE YOU MONTANA STATE

Big Sky goes 5-6 and Wildcat goes 7-4

5-6 is better than what it could have been. A couple of really nice wins over the weekend. Sac and SUU's wins were nice to see. Bummer deal for the cubbies, they were right there against UC Davis, and of course Weber's victory over the Orals was definitely nice to see.

Sac knocked off UCSB 51-50 on a Veteto layup with 5 seconds left. Good time for a win for us, it was badly needed.
